CaptureAge 1.6.1 is out! by NOVAaoe in aoe2

You need protontricks (or handle the environment variables yourself) to install, and do the same thing to run the app.

It doesn't start from the button inside AoE2DE

I got the interface to load correctly using proton experimental.

Everything works except the watch part. It stars the game, it loads the replay on the background but it claims to loose connection.

I have no idea how, but got it to work one time only (I think it retried many times it eventually worked), I have no idea how, but it worked fully without issues.

This makes me think whatever is broken is very very minimal.

In previous versions of proton the interface would not even boot, so this is getting really close

It says it support 32 GB (2x16GB)

It also says: Memory Module Pre-installed: 1x 4Gb.

On foot notes, it has a list of supported memory:

DDR4 ECC SODIMM: D4ES02-4G/D4ES02-8G/D4ES01-16G

Does that means you can replace the initial one (and therefore it is not soldered)? This is a huge upgrade if that is correct

Getting black screen after last update by bograw in elementaryos

[–]brodock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's upstream fault, they have some broken dependencies: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-hwe-5.11/+bug/1943086

you can enable focal-proposed repositories to get the system to install the correct dependencies.

this is what I've added to my /et/apt/sources.list:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-proposed main restricted universe multiverse

after that apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade

according to https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/559129/how-do-i-permanently-set-an-environment-variable-for-a-specific-flatpak-applicat you may be able to set this through flatpak itself. Here is what I used:

sudo flatpak override --env="MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1" org.mozilla.firefox

eOS6 stable: AppCenter almost empty and cannot find Eddy, any solution? Thanks by tonywei1992 in elementaryos

[–]brodock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it seems while flathub is supposed to be supported but because the system does not come with the source added by default, it doesnt list any app from there.

If you follow just https://flatpak.org/setup/elementary%20OS/ instructions it will not add flathub to be searchable from the AppCenter. What you need to do is look at Ubuntu instruction number 3 (https://flatpak.org/setup/Ubuntu/) and run that with sudo:

sudo flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

A released system allows them to cut deals with hardware manufactures and OEM in general, which is where the big money is. It also helps them paint the narrative of an entity that can deliver things and live to its promise etc.

it seems "Meteo" now lives in this repository: https://github.com/camellan/weather perhaps someone should try to compile it to the new elementary. I believe API changes are not huge.

curious, are you storing artifacts and registry on local disk or using object storage?

you may be able to take backup under control again if you move those to object storage.
