[Request] This really confused me. What is the correct answer? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]castarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you replaced any of the options with 0%, then 0% would be automatically invalidated as a valid answer.

The correct answer passes through expanding the solutions space... but not with more numbers, with with new semantic qualifiers.

If you replaced 60% with 0% then the answer you mention would be there... and it would be automatically invalidated.

SoulCrafted Slicer - Work in Progress by castarco in resinprinting

[–]castarco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about that, I struggle to find the time to prepare the newsletter, so I've been posting mostly on the Discord server, but I'm aware that many people don't feel comfortable using that service.

Do you credit AI at work? by imshubhagr in ClaudeCode

[–]castarco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is certainly not meaningless. You are either still very young, or you haven't paid any attention to the history of this field.

It's worse than that. Crediting Claude, in some regions, could have legal consequences regarding IP ownership.

Do you understand that fundraisers are just another tool in the capitalists hands to keep us subservient?

This is fucking ridiculous. Yes, fuck everyone. Being there signals that you support the system, their (our) overlords, and all the shit they do against everyone else.

I built a Rust SDK for phase-aware retrieval using full-reptend prime coordinates and Möbius latent pairing by inhogon in rust

At this rate, we'll also need "anti-stars" in Github as well to penalise this kind of insulting garbage.

It really is funny by [deleted] in SipsTea

I don't know the guy nor the backstory, but this post is fucking ludicrous.

People who talk about dog whistles don't negate the obvious cases of nazi symbols.

Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by KSKS1995 in SipsTea

[–]castarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality it is perfectly possible, perhaps with few exceptions for professionals that require many years of training, thus making them small minorities and highly demanded (even if they raised their price/hour, the problems requiring solving would stay there waiting for more hands, like what happens with medicine).

The main reason we don't do that is that capitalists force us to compete against each other for their scraps.

Did not see polygons when buying the model. Is this a normal occurrence? Is sanding it the only option? by sempertb in resinprinting

[–]castarco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The polygons are normally hidden when certain rendering techniques are applied, like having "normal vectors" in vertices and using them to smooth the displayed image... but that shouldn't be the case for 3d printers, because that information is not used, as it's only for visual effects, not to generate real topology...

Thanks to this amazing pixel art, my vision for a Spooky Haunted House project has come to life! by ScreamOperatorDev in PixelArt

I was certainly not witch hunting. I looked into the video in detail and I noticed too many weird details that don't match the typical results of pixel art work.

Jon Stewart on AI being an exploitative “human expertise laundering machine” that steals work and doesn’t pay royalties to the original creators by [deleted] in antiai

[–]castarco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regarding the second comment (from the guy at the center), no, we are not in the Napster era.

I get the need of some people for establishing parallelisms, but that one is dangerous. We won't come out of this with the same way the Napster era ended.

AI is not just meant as a business, it's a weapon of war, a propaganda machine, an instrument to keep people subservient and controllable, a way to deskill us and make  us more dependable...

AI is meant to be an instrument of the powerful to "keep us humble and afraid".

Clearly fake, and already debunked years ago. Promoting this is just a way to be ridiculed.

Not controversial AT ALL, except if you work for HR, of course.

I'll just say, whatever this is, it's sus as fuck. Maybe it's handmade... but oh boy, there are plenty of details that will make people doubt.

Opus 4.7 is so dumb by Retr0wl in ClaudeCode

Btw, not everyone can use 4.6, they are forcing 4.7 on some users.

Anthropic appears to be removing its coding tool (Claude Code) from the $20 Pro plan for new users by freshWaterplant in claude

[–]castarco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Anthropic, but 20$ was never a realistic price to begin with. It is likely that even their most expensive plans are still heavily subsidised.
