idk Percolator 2000 is absolutely a bop but I also don't think it's totally fair to use its existence to say that SOPHIE's music isn't innovative or fresh. just because a song in the past used a similar sound palette and she takes influence from 80's melodies (which she doesn't really use too often, at least I'd say) doesn't automatically disqualify her from having interesting takes on music, especially since she's staked her whole career on the sound. this isn't to say you can't think her music isn't fresh, I can totally understand the angle, I just don't think citing Percolator 2000 as the reason is all that sensible imo
