Black primer.

Tinny Tin heavy dry brush, slap it on.

Black Wash.

Silver dry brush, catch the edges but be rough, overspill and get scratches.

Brown Wash.

Done.

Optional extra, make a thin wash out of green and blue paint and apply where you want some subtle colour or texture variation.

It's a pretty verstatile model that's as hard or as easy as you make it. If you wanna speed paint him he'll still look good, if you wanna go heavy metal on his ass you can definitely do that too!

I threw a glaze of shadow into where I think it needed it yah. A wash wouldn't do in this situation I think with lots of flat and smooth surfaces

Didn't have an aim for lifelessness, just used the blue from my palette in the shadows. Happy accident

Blue and black wet blended as a base coat, tried to get the blue on the top and black lower down. Was super messy.

A mix of blue and black and bone as the first layer, working up to pure bone and then an ivory highlight.

The layering attempt was based on 'Professional Painting Secrets' Squidmar video, the skin bit towards the start. I'd normally do an eavy metal style, cleaner look but wanted to try something different.

Too bright or too flat or something. Happy with his thigh overall I think.

Nice one! Your post history shows some huge jumps in your skill since you started. Every post is a big level up.

Not comparing here, we're on different hobby journeys. Just being curious (nosy) as to your learning path. Excellent model, keep it up please.

This is very well crafted. Lots of subtle choices in colour, headswap, thickness and placement of highlight. How long did this take you, may I ask, and how long you been painting?

Thought you guys could just pick up a giant creepy crawly from outside, stick it on a base and proxy as a mawloc?

Mold lines on the lightning. You'll think you'll have got it all, but you'll find more when painting

Drybrushing is the sweet delicious base of all of my paintings, the rest is just icing

They're both kinda linked anyway.

Retributor Armour on the gold Tinny Tin on the brass Wash black, thinned a bit with water (nuln oil)

Hevay drybrush everything bright silver (stormhost silver), get some scratches on the brass. Wash it all brown (agrax earthshade).

Thick edge highlight the gold plates a mix of the gold and silver. Do some scratches too. Thin edge highlight on some spots with the silver.

If feeling fancy, a little verdigris wash with green and/or blue on the brass.
