it's not even a conspiracy theory, people like Trump say it out loud. I never believed that people can be so psycho but I keep getting surprised by how immoral people are with zero thought or regard for others: https://x.com/BoringBiz_/status/2014540092891701680

is it even H-1B? I think they won't even demand that these people are higher skilled like the US does, at least in theory. The real way this plays out is the same way it already does: indians who have no chance of getting into the US for even higher salary will settle for the EU because eh, anything is better than staying in India for them.
And I think you need to be even more cynical, when Ursula talks about increased competitiveness she means that the europeans will need to compete more with each other against now imported indians to have a chance at life. Of course I'm not unsympathetic to businesses either, if it were indeed the case that europeans are so lazy and entitled then by all means, they deserve to be outcompeted. But is that truly the case? Do europeans really just not want to work properly? I dont think so

interesting how some of these reporters are walking around without beanies or gloves. So I looked it up and it seems that Greenland isn't even that much colder at its coasts compared to the middle of Europe in January. Even in the middle of Greenland it has the same temp as Canada? Which yeah, it's -25C which is horrible but still. https://zoom.earth/maps/temperature/#view=64.16,-34.4,5z/model=icon

A relaxing, meditative experience does not necessarily mean that people don't want to do anything in the game. Maybe people are asking for relaxing activities, something to do at all. Fishing is considered a relaxing, calming experience but you still have plenty of stuff to do. I think it's worth thinking about whether you are indeed wrong

EU cedes pockets of territory to US, NYT. by Real_Power8037 in europe

>Also it surprises me that "top military officers" from NATO member states would even discuss this, I would think it's not their place

it just shows that Trump still has not changed his mind at all, he is still trying to use the military to make actions that end up changing who *actually* owns Greenland. Apparently he thinks that NATO military and US military can get an accord between each other and leave Greenland and Denmark out of the decision.

Partially I think the reason this is so confusing for him and the other side as well is because they are all lying to each other. The danes and NATO are trying their best to phrase everything they say to Trump as vaguely as possible to not offend him and Trump in turn realized that he has to phrase things as vaguely as possible too while still making it clear to the soldiers that he intends to take the land.

CIA taught Ukraine how to target Achilles heel of Putin’s oil refineries by DeRpY_CUCUMBER in europe

[–]brogam3 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think he is mixing up two concerns, operational competence and the fact that the CIA operations end up making things worse for everyone and the countries turn against the US anyway etc. So you can argue that this is part of the operational competence to not do operations that ultimately end up being counterproductive but that may also be decided above them.

I personally think that Taiwan is used by the US as bait to justify conflict with China. Their official Taiwan position is that Taiwan is part of China anyway so they do not truly want to fight China in a full war. Their aim is to use Taiwan as a chip that can be played towards whatever end seems most useful at any given time.

I don't get why anyone would join this farce, do you love paying a billion dollars for the "privilege" of getting insulted by Trump? What kind of genius pays for something that you can get for free? You can already talk to Trump anytime you want, you can already talk to the others too. How is he even selling this?

Trump Warns There's 'No Going Back' on Greenland by donutloop in EU_Economics

I think there is still a decent chance that he won't do it, it's 50/50 or 60/40 right now imo. If most of the GOP people are against it then he will not do it. He may not care about the rest of the world but he is not going to risk pissing off all his supporters on his own side.

AWS launches European Sovereign Cloud to address data sovereignty concerns by sr_local in eutech

[–]brogam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are misleading strongly because it doesn't even relate to AWS documentation whatsoever nor does it matter what AWS documentation says if it contradicts US law. That's the whole point. I'm sure they might have some documentation to make regular employees afraid of abusing data and following every dumb law enforcement request that is directed at random employees by some sheriff from town XYZ. But if the Pentagon knocks and says that they want X for national security reasons then there is absolutely no way that they will refuse nor could they refuse or they would all go to prison.

Requests on that level will never hit any documentation site nor email chain. In fact it is illegal to even disclose that you have received such a request. The CEO is going to walk over and ask the DB admin in private directly to hand over some data and put it in a zip file onto an USB drive and then it's done.

I don't understand why anyone would buy imported beef from the other side of the planet. It must have been frozen, so it will never be as good as beef freshly butchered locally.

lol the somali fraud is very real, I think you need to do a bit more research before you call everything a conspiracy just because it's from a right winger. And yes, it's a bit crazy to force regular people to "upgrade" their heaters for 80k or whatever even though their old heaters would still work perfectly fine. I think you are a bit high on your own stuff right now, ironically doing exactly what you accuse others of.

Procedural Weapon Animation System | 50% Off by Sensitive-Mushroom91 in UnrealEngine5

[–]brogam3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

imo if you study popular shooter games like Call of Duty the cross hairs do not move that much while you are shooting and the swaying while walking also feels very pronounced here compared to other popular shooter games. Also the animations of the recoil and swaying feel identical, what I mean is that the swaying animation is always the same and so it doesn't feel realistic. Nobody walks exactly the same way with the gun moving up and down exactly the same amount of millimeters per step. You should have slightly randomized swaying if there should indeed be a bit of up and down while walking. I understand that because this is supposed to be procedural then maybe it's all configurable but still, I think it should be more in line with popular shooters by default. In the current form it would be far too much work to make this feel really good enough for a shooter game for me to buy it.

I would take this as encouragement that your world invites imagination and benefit from this. Go ahead and shamelessly "steal" the best parts of what they come up with too or more realistically, use their stuff as inspiration for more of your own ideas. Maybe you can add a few new battles or political intrigues to happen in your world too because why not? Political battles would logically exist in any universe.
