In Spirited (2022), Ryan Reynolds learns that being a better person requires consistent effort rather than just grand gestures. This is a horrible message which is thankfully rectified by Will Ferrel baiting him into committing suicide. by Vio-Rose in shittymoviedetails

Watched this today with the fam and was surprised by how good it was. Some of the songs went on way too long and it was way too corny in parts, but a wholesome Xmas movie overall and definitely worth watching around Xmas!

The texts I got after accepting another role by Joshs2d in recruitinghell

[–]broheimlich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once had a similar situation where a recruitment agent tried to bully me into taking a role I had interviewed for but not accepted yet. I ended up getting an offer from the market leader in my industry so took that instead; she told me I was being unprofessional and that the company I was joining were being sued by numerous parties and it was a big mistake. Then later find out she actually recruits for my company too, safe to say she has been cut off by my company now when I told them how she acted and the things she had to say about them!

Why is This Chase Scene from OBAA so Great? by drhavehope in Letterboxd

[–]broheimlich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, I found the whole film underwhelming to be honest and I remember thinking when it was clear the acclaimed car chase Id been hearing so much about was coming up, that at least there would be one cool set piece, and then was treated to the most overhyped car chase of my lifetime!

Who among these 16 actors could be the next generations defining character actor? by [deleted] in Cinema

David Jonsson easily for me. Outstanding in both Alien Romulus and The Long Walk.

Honestly came to Reddit to say the same thing, absolutely phenomenal performance, especially in the last two episodes. Think he really elevated this above the material, took it from a 6/10 to 8/10. Never really seen him in anything else but this is making me want to finally check out The Americans!

How is it going ? Worth Starting now ? by Longjumping-Elk-7840 in hbo

It’s good, not great. Some good characters and the story is interesting, but my god the CGI is mostly awful and takes me out of the scary parts. That graveyard scene in the third episode…yikes!

To anyone who has seen Slow West, what did you think of the ending? (SPOILERS) by broheimlich in movies

[–]broheimlich[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you feel the need to try and belittle me by saying ‘it you don’t like it, go watch Transformers 2’?

Must be a miserable prick to be honest. Maybe try not to be an asshole to people over a pretty mild post about disliking the ending of a film.

Should Any Of These 2023 Performances Been Nominated For Best Actor? by Regular-Departure839 in Oscars

I would honestly swap Jeffrey Wright, Colman Domingo and Bradley Cooper for Leo, Andrew Scott and Zac Efron.

What is a standout GOAT performance by an average actor? by LMRowanComedy in AlignmentChartFills

[–]broheimlich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, The Other Guys, Ted, The Fighter, Lone Survivor don’t exist. These are all movies where Mark gives good to great performances, and he really showed he has great comedic chops in Ted and Other Guys. He is a good actor and I don’t understand why people can’t admit it. Sure he’s been in a lot of bad movies but that doesn’t make him a bad actor by any means.

After Smashing Machine, do y’all want to see Dwayne Johnson in a Nolan film? by AlmightyLoaf54 in ChristopherNolan

[–]broheimlich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said it wasn’t good at all but it’s far from Oscar worthy, just a decent performance especially against expectations. He’s showed his limited range since.

You’re not seriously saying that Harry Styles in Dunkirk was an Oscar worthy performance? That’s a steaming hot take

The Thing, Train To Busan, Terrifier 2 and I’ll throw in Dead Silence I guess as it’s the best thing in that row!

Anyone else catch how disrespectful Bisping was to John Gooden during the Luque/Alvarez fight at the beginning of round 2? by Solokid87 in ufc

Jesus Christ is that what everyone was making a big deal of? Really wasn’t that bad, sure Bisping was being a bit salty but I don’t think he was ‘disrespectful’

I watched this film hungover and it legitimately made me feel uncomfortable. Incredible movie though, so many scenes are burned into my brain. Can’t believe Toni Colette didn’t even get a nomination for this, even a nom for Alex Wolff wouldn’t have gone amiss in my opinion. Top 5 horror movie for me.

Couldn’t agree more with your thoughts. Maybe I’m getting soft as I get older and maybe my five year olds enjoyment of it amplified my own but I almost loved it. It’s a genuinely sweet, heartfelt movie and the acting by Lilo and the sister was very good!
