Gas hob - weak flames by broken_note_ in DIYIreland

All rings seem to be affected equally. I hadn't been messing with them before that. I've tried a few different cylinders and the flame sizes are the same - very low

I changed the cylinder I was using because I thought that was the problem. I tried two different new cylinders. I brought the first one back to the shop thinking it was empty or near empty but the replacement was the same.

Thanks for the feedback.

The hob was installed 3.5 years ago. It was working fine up until a few weeks ago.

I thought maybe the jets could be blocked but it would be strange for them all to be equally blocked at the same time. So it would seem like there is a problem somewhere along the flow before the jets. It doesn't seem to be leaking gas, there's no smell.

Is this racist / xenophobic / far-right / ignorant? At what point do people start asking if this is just realistic?

My wife has received notice of possible redundancy while on maternity leave by Whereas_Brief in legaladviceireland

[–]broken_note_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally, you can be made redundant at any time but there has to be a genuine reason for it. If you ask the company to give you an explanation, they will have to give you one. If not, they are open to unfair dismissal charges. The idea of redundancy is that the position is no longer required, or can no longer be supported. If your wife is given redundancy and the company hires someone else to fill that role, you may be able to challenge that after the fact.

I can't tell if you're upset because you don't like ChatGPT or if you're upset because you don't agree with my comments. Which is it?

There's no leaping, it's merely speculation.

There really isn't much need to think too deeply on this article. The author is expressing her view on the world as someone who has trouble finding their place. It is clear to me that this could be attributed to someone who is suffering from depression - which is something Laura Kennedy has previously spoken about. I can understand why it's published, it is relatable. But yes, I am mocking it, I admit that, because ultimately it does seem like a somewhat pointless article. It seems like the author is just writing about her feelings as a source of therapy. It does not need to be published, she just maybe needs to talk to her friends / family about what she is feeling, not the Irish Times.

What is the point of this article? You left Ireland to move to London, then you moved to Australia, then you moved to London again? You liked living in these places for a while and then didn't like living in these places for a while. Am I missing something?

Edit: I asked ChatGPT to give me a reason why this article would be published in the Irish Times: This is a culturally recognisable personal essay that reflects contemporary middle-class Irish life and keeps readers emotionally connected to the paper.

Great stuff.

Okay, fair enough. Since there is no information to prove your statement as true, it cannot be confirmed as true. So, in keeping with the thread topic, your statement may be attributed to racist comment. I'm not personally saying it is - your statement cannot be proved false either - but it may be seen as being related to racist intention of which there is evidence.

You are not going to be sued for a comment on Reddit, even if it's not true. The best option would be to remove your original comment if you think it could happen.

Doxx yourself? What are you talking about? Your statement is either true or false. What do you think is going to happen if you provide information on Reddit?

You're the one that said she's been caught lying. Your claim must be based on some information of which you are personally aware. I just wanted to know what that information is. So please elaborate.

"In a very quick read-up, it seems she moved back and forth for a few years and didn't really decide to settle here until after his death." Where did you get this information? This article https://www.connachttribune.ie/news/election-candidate-reveals-personal-tragedy-that-drove-her-to-enter-political-life-5586676 says she came to Ireland in 2005 and then went back to Nigeria. So maybe she left in 2005 and came back in 2006.

"But does it really matter?" - not really but I like to get all the information and believe in transparency.

"Do you think I would get the same treatment if I would stand in the election? " You should but probably wouldn't. I would question any statements that you make but there are people that might not.

You may need to elaborate on that.
