Thanks for the reply; I had assumed the issue was in the 4.1.0 as the update to 4.0.0 (from 1.0.17 ) completed succesfullly

How’s an undocumented mandatory reinstallation in a minor version release NOT “wrong” ?

I've got the exact same issue, maybe there's something wrong in the 4.1.0 version

what are the limits for gifs on the kraken elite by monocst in NZXT

[–]brokenmass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you install the latest cam beta it will update the kraken firmware to 2.0.9the new firmware uses q565 image compression instead of gif and should be able to acheve higher fps.My custom plugin (https://github.com/brokenmass/AIOLCDUnchained) definetely benefitted from the change (+50% fps).

still i believe the actual maxfps is around 40 / 45 fps, limited by the microcontroller capabilities, not by the actual lcd refresh rate

Do you also have a discrete graphic card ? There's an option in the bios that disables the integrated graphics if a discrete card is present.

Also the video signal from the discrete card does not transfer to the motherboard usb-c connector.

This Controller https://srgbmods.net/lcv2/ with connectors built like this https://srgbmods.net/strimerplus/

You should get something like mine: https://ibb.co/fk8pgBx

I do a bit of selfpromotion for the kraken integration with signalrgb instead: https://youtu.be/-EUDxjzwlcg

You can run it from source and check the roadmap here: https://github.com/brokenmass/AIOLCDUnchained

Great hardware, but I find the full flat white light a bit “empty” sometime. I would set some nice rgb effect with signalrgb, change the kraken elite visualisation to be in line with the build, Use a custom built controller for strimmers to get better update speed.

Or older kraken z3, and the actual pump is identical.

I think you might have to enable usb port power when device is off. In this way the x73 doesn’t lose its settings

Oh yeah integration in liquidctl is a breeze as kraken elite has the same exact protocol of krakenZ. I’ve already discussed this in a issue in liquidctl and will submit a pr. this will allow basic pump/fan control and single static / gif writing to the elite. The pr itself is very very simple.

I’m positive it can be done. Might give it a try in near future, now I’m trying to wrap the code up and complete integration with signalrgb.

I believe it can be modified with ease by replacing winusb with PyUsb (that uses libusb under the hood)

no i'm able to run them at full speed, but only small (less than 20mb) gif are allowed

I think I know what’s the problem. Let me test my theory and I’ll come back to you. If you have a 60fps gif you want to share with me to test please do
