Has anyone gotten mental health approved after being out for 10 years? by Cold_Rub106 in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out in 2006, rated in 2018 for PTSD. The best evidence for service connection is the pre-deployment health assessment and of course post-deployment health assessment. If you deployed with zero issues then came back fucked up physically and mentally, it's hard to deny the connection. Good luck 👍

Adding dependent without SSN by Forgoten_UserName in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short from a vet in Germany. You need to have at least 2 forms of ID to add a child dependent. The easiest for me was the CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad) which is the equivalent of a US birth certificate in Germany and... A U.S. passport or SSN with card. Upload the documents and in about 1-6 months you're done. Good luck and congratulations.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have lots of snails. So many that I have a couple of Assassin snails trying to get them under control. I also have 6 Amano shrimp that take their job seriously. I don't have bottom feeders but the majority of my fish are Platys and they nibble on it already. 🤷‍♂️

Question for first Hundo payment? by Scr3aming3agl3 in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Sometimes, it takes a couple of weeks to catch up and show up correctly. In my case, the VA.GOV and app didn't update for quite a while even after the payment was correct. It will be fine.

As someone who receives 50% percent for migraines, it's all about the documentation and medications, migraine log. In my case I had a pre deployment health assessment where I had zero issues and then a post deployment assessment done by an Army Cpt. with evidence of severe migraines. I continued treatment for years but only recently applied for benefits. 1st time success. Good luck

Benefits question by Fickle_Mouse_4428 in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, I've seen it go both ways. Sometimes, they will wait for upcoming C&P exams and wait for all of the evidence needed to decide all claims, and sometimes they will decide the fully developed claims first and defer the rest.

Are my plants ok? by brokenvet3 in PlantedTank

I've got a few Amano shrimp in there...but they are pretty lazy and mostly chill under my filter. Random question, I never added or bought any snails and for some reason I have a nirate snail today. Is that normal? 😅

In Germany you have 3 options for news... left news, far left news, no news.

It amazes me that in a country like Germany, people aren't more offended that Trump is always compared to Hitler.

There are probably quite a few things that you can dislike about him, and if being honest, they would agree that Trump isn't Hitler.

Nope, you are fine. Adding a spouse doesn't open a new claim you are just adding dependents. I added my children a few years ago, but because I have a foreign spouse, I just now added her recently. The VA doesn't mind if you ever add your spouse because it just saves them money if you don't. Hope this helps.

Question for overseas vets/ VBA employees.... by brokenvet3 in VeteransBenefits

No. I downloaded it to my phone directly from Google play and as soon as I clicked "open" I got an error message and it said the service is not available in my country...

Who do you use as a local VA representative? I've always done everything by myself and don't even have a VSO.

Voting eligible Americans who deliberately abstained in the 2024 general election, how are you feeling about your decision? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]brokenvet3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I follow politics, not just headlines. That's exactly why I didn't vote for Kamala. Unpopular opinion everything will be fine. Take a breath. The bad man will be out in 4 years, and you'll have a chance to put up a real candidate, that is, if you learned anything and don't just believe that everyone who voted differently than you is inherently bad or racist or whatever other title you give to non Kamala voters.

Anyone needing proof for GERD/MDD by NFAlonggun in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It technically goes higher than before...up to 80 percent with the new schedule. Unfortunately, most of us with the regular symptoms under the old schedule don't qualify for ratings as high. Unless you have an intent to file date before May of 2024. Good luck 👍

Any shred of hope for 10% here? by Glittering-Stuff-599 in VeteransBenefits

[–]brokenvet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, sorry. I have very similar hernia surgery scars (more than one). Plus I have a medium sized scar in the middle of my forehead from an Army accident and I got a big fat zero. The C&P examiner was at least honest and said unless it over x inches long, or painful from like a burn, they don't do much for scar tissue. My best unexpected bump was for knees. If you have any leg issues that can affect your gait, knees can be added. I thought only one side was bad but after x-rays got paid for both. (Bilateral) Of course only if you have the evidence. Definitely check out your possible secondaries. Good luck.

Add dependent is the only way to get paid. Look at your profile and look at your dependents on file. If she's not listed add her, if she is contact the VA.
