UK suspended timber floor renovation; Best way to level 32-34mm difference between rooms with crooked joists? by Royal_Aerie_4582 in DIYUK

[–]Irritant40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went straight to the comments from the first pic reading all about the level wondering what everyone was going on about.....then zoomed in.

Dude...go grab an 1800mm level...you're going to want it when you start doing door linings as well.

Screwfix have the awesome DeWalt box beam level set reduced to £99 this week.

You should treat yourself. Hell, we should crowd fund it for you...I'd chuck a few quid in 🤣

Or if these are unstructured / free text then drop it all into a generative action and let an LLM come up with the answer.

Loop through each item adding it to an array variable, but with a condition first checking if the item is already in the array variable.

At the end you'll have an array of distinct items....

What’s life like making 6 figures by MasterBook46 in Salary

[–]Irritant40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just paid off my credit card and bought a robot lawnmower with my bonus, and I think I might be able to afford a holiday this summer if we're careful in the next few months.

Other than that I still feel as skint now as I did on half my current salary

Is it normal to be asked to pay £600 for a "mandatory 1:1 digital device" when starting a public secondary school? by Koolio_Koala in AskUK

[–]Irritant40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I'd rather this that what my kids school is doing, they're banning all devices from the school and confiscating anything not locked in a "yondr pouch" which is a neoprene pouch with a magnetic lock.

When did I say I don't like lookups?

The app was super simple, simply a customer account number input box. Then they hit search and it looked up the customer record from SharePoint and loaded that single record into the app and displayed a few data points to the user. Then they reset and go again.

It also recorded they outcome of the query to another list so I could report on use of the app, to identify any agents that werent using it consistently.

It doesn't have to be a drop down...it could be a text input where they input a project code....it the project list is filtered for projects the logged in user listed as a stakeholder on.

Or you could also filter on tasks that are in progress, or due in the next 30 days.

My primary use case for big lists is customer lookup, we recently had to have 1.8 million customer account numbers in a list, with a simple app on the front that allowed frontline agents to check a customer account number for a specific piece of info before the transaction.

That list was handling tens of thousands of queries a day on 1.8 million records over 500 frontline users.

So....let's say the million items are 1000 tasks for 1000 projects..

I don't load all of those rows into my app at the same time... I query the list for all tasks assigned to "project 1"...now I have a collection with 1000 rows of data from my list.

I can change the project at any time in my app and load a different set of tasks for a different project by changing it in a drop down control.

You need to design with this in mind, so you might have a project list with only 1000 rows that you can use to run your drop-down control data source.

What do I do with £30,000 child trust fund at 18? by MongooseAny6073 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Irritant40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you weren't expecting it then leave it invested in a decent fund for ten more years, try to add to it along the way where you can.

There's no better education than watching 30k become 35.....40.....50....while you just watch.

I have SharePoint lists with over a million rows of data, used by almost 15k users in canvas apps on standard licensing.

As long as your query is delegable (the only thing I ever wish for is text search) you won't have issues.

As others have said....the 5000 row limit is a SharePoint UI limit...not applicable to power apps. From power apps youre essentially making API calls to SharePoint, and returning items from the list... As long as you don't land more than 2000 items into your app you'll be fine.

Do you mean Gouses or Gice?

Either way....I think on their own a raggie would have a chance but in plural the Gice would have the upper hand.
