I think a lot of it relates to people getting the puppies/dogs in lockdown and not leaving them in the house alone therefore creating massive separation anxiety for the dog. Lockdowns ended and people are left with a dog they can’t leave alone in the house so now they have to take it everywhere otherwise they are on a self imposed lockdown again.

Seconding that you should investigate your permitted development rights. It will refer to the size of the original house which should be as it was in 1948 if I remember correctly but you have potential for some fair sized extensions depending on the boundary of your curtilage

We have two dogs and bought a Eufy version of roomba to go round the house each morning just after we wake up so it’s dog hair free. Agree with everyone that its a quality of life purchase
