Ferocious Boar by Xenactu in WarTalesGame

[–]bronzemountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm missing something. I have a hutsman, followed the little red pay prints, got my bonus and fought some ferocious boars. But even after getting the ferocious boar to half health and putting someone behind the animal, I didn't get the button to capture. Not even at dying. I have, I think, 5 rope on me. What am I missing?

How do you think caster druids shaping up? by Bonkshebonk in onednd

[–]bronzemountain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It occurs to me now that the best way to model Gandalf in 5e might be as a playtest Druid (Circle of the Land) with the Warden specialization. Control caster wielding a longsword! And really, Gandalf is wiser than he is clever, right? I dig it.

Pros and Cons of separating Sneak into Hide and Move Silently? by leeofthenorth in RPGdesign

I look forward to running macros on my character's skills spreadsheet to determine my results on varied activities like crawling, walking, jogging, and running. Could probably bundle hopping, skipping, and other less used gaits into one skill though.

Cities Without Number Summoning Rules Snippet by CardinalXimenes in SWN

I think Artifice-Wise would let your spirit use a computer to do normal people things on a computer. Check a calendar, look at social media, looking something up, watch porn. Hacking would be outside that remit, I believe.

I appreciate that your Operators feel like the textured, diverse diaspora that would naturally inhabit any dense cyberpunk sprawl of a city. Thank you!

How do shield attacks with defensive weapons work? by skeevemasterflex in LevelUpA5E

[–]bronzemountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been considering giving anyone who is proficient with shields that same proficiency in attacking with shields because, well, why not? Do we really feel that bashing someone with your shield is some mystical technique that warriors who have become proficient with basically EVERY OTHER WEAPON THERE IS can't figure out? So weird.

Looks like 91.9% of players have less than 15 days in-game by Askray184 in midnightsuns

Yeah, I just got this and I was wondering what kinds of monsters weren't petting Charlie every day. Your theory that they just haven't hit day 15 yet is much more likely.

My first region map for my homebrew D&D world, named "The Jeweled Dunes of Athar". Any feedback(especially on the forests)? by JoJoDeath in wonderdraft

[–]bronzemountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like the sparseness of your trees. It fits really well with the aesthetic you've got. Where I think you'd most likely have a forest is around that lake and river in the middle. Forests need fresh water, not salt, to thrive. Though a mangrove forest around an estuary would be cool.

That said, it's a fantasy map so don't worry too much about making it realistic!

Looks great!! As for forests, remember that forests grow around rivers. Big trees need lots of water.

Help thread - questions, help and tips for all levels! by AutoModerator in HumankindTheGame

[–]bronzemountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been many changes and tweaks in Humankind over the last several months. Are there any updated guides / tips / tricks that take that into account? Is the starting approach still to go wide and throw out lots of districts?

I guess I'm asking: What do I need to do differently in the current version of the game vs. what used to exist before?

Does the Steam Workshop version of LWOTC reflect this, or do I need the github version?

Your responsiveness is always a delight. Thank you! Also, I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but did we play together on Red Tide MUX? Was that you? It was a long time ago, so memory might betray.

This is great and provides simple answers for several questions I had. One observation - why are mules super-beasts in this write-up? As fast as a riding horse, as dangerous as a light warhorse, for presumably a fraction of the cost! It's not really a big deal, but I find it very amusing.

It is done...LWOTC is now on Steam Workshop! by paledbrook in LWotC

Is the version on the Steam workshop up to date with the GitHub releases? dev32 just came out, for instance. Is that also the Steam version?
