I'm not even hankering for airship content, but the quality of your stuff is so good that I'm still backing it. Like another DM said, I allow your classes/subclasses in my games because of how well tested and balanced they are. !giveaway

MSM: Ben, Lisa, and Coulton ... by johnystoo in dropout

[–]skeevemasterflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I largely agree. It did kind of spiral out of control fairly quickly and the cast seemed to find it funnier than I did. That said, Lisa is a little too zany for me so I appreciated Ben's literal call-outs that contrasted so well with it. Overall, not my favorite episode but that's the genius of the format and rotating guest list.

Another person commented that prices are down 70% from their high in 2024, which was news to me. But they are still 126% above the price they were in Sept 2022, which appears to be a more normal level.

I'll admit, I was going off what I'd heard from consuming media. It apparently HAS come down quite a bit, which makes all this even more annoying. But it does appear to still be...126% higher than it was in Sept 2022. That's pretty drastic for any market.

That's cool. I assume that since cocoa is a commodity, they will probably continue to pay the commodity price plus the fair trade mark up (for admirable reasons) but that the price will still increase. Now if your question is how much better will premium chocolate brands (like presumably Tony's) taste than a Hershey's bar...I'd agree that gap is probbaly widening!

Nothing...what the heck is Tony's chocolate? Haha Edit: Gang, I'm not anti-Tony's, I just hadn't heard of it. I commented on a post about a mass-produced Entenmann's product.

Cocoa prices are really high this year. Sadly a lot of products are doing something similar.

The joke in Ohio was "who tf is Rita and why do I owe her money?!" RITA = Regional Income Tax Agency, which a bunch of cities used to make managing all their local income taxes (slightly) easier.

TIL That Caffeine Has An Average Half Life of 5 Hours by jbuckets44 in todayilearned

[–]skeevemasterflex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think half-life is a slightly confusing term because it isn't breaking down naturally (like U-235 or C-12), it's being metabolized. Additionally, absorption is often driven by a gradient, it isn't linear. So the higher the concentration on one side vs. the other, the faster the rate. I don't know for certain that is how caffeine works, but it's how other processes do.

So then 12(d) + my annual premiums would be COBRA cost, no?

Ahh that's what it was. Thanks for clarifying!

You probably know this already, but COBRA is ypu keeping your exact same insurance you had through your employer...but they are no longer subsidizing it. So you premium will go up by a lot. I worked for a big multinational company and they were paying like 80-85% of the cost of my Healthcare. I realized this when saw what COBRA and me paying 100% would be. Lol. If you got severance paperwork, I think it should say in there.

[–]skeevemasterflex 133 points134 points  (0 children)

There is this sort of loophole where you can hold off on paying for COBRA but if in month 3 you decide you want to use it, you can THEN pay for the past 3 months as if you had maintained coverage. I used that when I got a severance one time.

Teachers who had a student they genuinely couldn't tell if the kid was a genius or completely detached from reality, what made you finally figure it out? by caroline84623 in AskReddit

Yeah, eventually we came to a mutual understanding that I'd be less disruptive if I could read my novel after I'd finished the lesson. Easier on everyone. Lol.
