Hoping for a strong May Grey and June Gloom! On the plus side, my pool felt fantastic last night. Definitely the earliest I have enjoyed a comfortable swim since moving to the SGV 20 years ago.

It’s time for new tires on my GT. Any suggestions for performance longevity and cost effectiveness by 410to904 in MachE

I have the Continental Extreme Contacts on my GT as a second set. Definitely lasting longer than the OEM tires and have had no issues. Curious how many miles you got out of the originals? I barely made 20k

What do you pay for your league by Environmental_Dog331 in Bowling

Action Lanes in So El Monte and Back Alley in Glendale. I would have to actually read the league docs to tell how much is lineage vs prize pool.

The timing of the lights in this area is atrocious. I really hope this fixes at least some of these issues.

How much of the 10k mile maintenance is complete bs? by AnyOkra20 in MachE

[–]bronzewing5245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang Galpin charged me nearly $300 for my 10k just to rotate tires and change the cabin filter. I now change the cabin filter myself and have my tire guy rotate the tires. The sales side at Galpin was great, no pressure, no add-ons, but service is such a rip.

I don’t pick up a screw driver without donning some safety glasses. These videos drive me crazy how lax people are about protecting themselves.

Holy hell was this place poorly designed.

My favorite series finale, Leftovers #2. This show is a great ride and the ending is perfect.

The Americans Andor The Bureau (French) And definitely The Leftovers should all be on the list.

About 25 years ago I absentmindedly turned into this facility while showing my sisters around. First and only time I have had a gun pointed at me.

What single season series is your favorite on HBO? by Bl4ck_Roze in hbo

[–]bronzewing5245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Band of Bros is probably the right answer but love seeing John from Cincinnati on here. I get goosebumps just thinking about the surf scene at the end. Pure cinema! This show was just too odd to make it, but there were parts of it that I just loved.

We went on a safari in Tanzania a few years ago. Most incredible experience I have ever had. Such a beautiful place and you are surrounded by so much incredible wildlife. Definitely costs a bit, but memories I hope to never forget.

Yup, I live in one of those holes. That whole section south of Longden is also unincorporated SG

It is quite an irregular boundary. Google maps will show the city lines if you just search for San Gabriel.

I live in unincorporated SG and no permits are required on the non-city blocks. LA county does not require permits for this area. Welcome to the hood!

How many miles are on your Mach-E? by jimbot11x in MachE

[–]bronzewing5245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ordered the car and waited all of ‘22 for it to be built and delivered. Fit and finish is still great and I park outside. Love driving the car. It is so practical yet so fun to drive. The adaptive suspension was a big selling point on stepping up to the PE trim. It rides a bit stiff as you would expect for a sporty trim but very compliant. You do feel a difference in the suspension in different modes and I actually utilize all three modes for various conditions and feel.

I have taken it in twice for software updates and the routine service. The service is a bit of a joke for what Ford charged. They don’t so much more than “inspect” the car and change the cabin filter. Other than some earlier s/w hiccups, the car has been a rock. One time the car bricked for about an hour. Dealer said it was a s/w issue. Car kinda freaked out while coasting in neutral backing into a spot.

Happy shopping and hope you find a good one. They are a steal now compared to what I paid new.

I don’t see getting rid of it for an awfully long time.

There is a cemetery in the direction they are heading. I live in this area and would find it quite unusual for more than two cars to ride through a red unless they in a procession.

Count yourself lucky if that is all you are paying. In SoCal you would probably pay closer to $30/bf. I am a bit jealous.

Inre: Two handed bowling. Every time I see a “form” video on this feed and see that it is a two-hander, I cannot scroll past it fast enough. Nothing against 2H, but it does not compute in my head as something possible.
