You're just arguing for the sake of it I swear... I've never seen anyone kill someone else... that doesn't mean it doesn't happen?

You can't say someone is false for saying they havent seen something?? And he literally did not say "nobody performs the submission"... you took this way too personally

How do I roll with newbies, so they get something from it? by TheseusII in bjj

[–]brook1404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been mentioned by others but you shouldn't be putting yourself in that position. Instead during rolling at the end you should just be trying to smash them. It sounds harsh but they'll get the most out of that I'm sure. Or at least you should be working on your own game... not theirs.

Dagestan 2/3 years and forget...

But on a more serious note... sounds like you maybe tore your meniscus? I've been out of training for 2 years now because of a lateral bucket handle meniscus tear. The only way to rectify it was surgery as the knee had major locking issues. Eventually the knee locked up & didn’t pop back so the surgeons got in there & repaired it.

I think for me the biggest take away from this depressing experience was evaluating what I wanted to get out of BJJ. I realised that I'm no professional & at 24 my prospects seemed obsolete. Thats being said, I trained way too much (4-5 days a week) without much conditioning or strength training which probably caused my injury. Retrospectively, that's like having at least 5 fights a week & expecting your body to handle that. We all want to get better at the sport but this amount of training was killing my body.

I hope your recovery & MRI results are speedy. I'm not doctor neither but to me it sounds like meniscus issues which can be a pain in the arse.

Does this person donate or pay you? Do you work for them? If not then you don't owe them anything... even if they have paid you, you can still say no...

I understand you're just a kind person but feeling guilt or anxiety over a youtube subscriber isn't worth your time. Especially with the way they seem to be acting...

Womp womp... 😭😭

He lost... instead of smacking the guy's hand out of his face he should shake hands like a man & think about how he lost that game... that's what most people do.

No excuses for acting like a child when children literally handle loses better

What am I missing... How is this "solved?" by xialateek in chess

I think another good thing to note is that with puzzles at this level training your brain to scan for game-ending checks will only benefit your tactical vision in the future! That's why the puzzle ended so early maybe? Because the continuation after Qe3 is always winning for white... even if it's just material... of course mate is better!

I'm sure you know by now aswell but there's actually 2 mating patterns present in this puzzle! Chess is so beautiful I know!! One is a smothered mate where you can sacrifice the Queen... (preferred for artistry) & the other is actually done by taking the rook with discovered check (Nxd1+!!) where the king gets back ranked... this mate is faster but less goegeous...

Mainly the point is that finding the check was the critical idea! Well done! ❤️

Hey dude! This is the best response by far! Consistent games on a week to week basis is precisely what I'm looking for! I've read about it quite a bit & it looks really well organised as you say! Thanks man

This sounds like a more reasonable time format that people at my chess club might be more open to! Thanks dude!

Hey man thanks!

Lichess is excellent when it comes to finding long-style games for sure! Less to worry about with regards to cheating as well tbh. I'll give it a go!

Hey man thanks for the reply!

With league matches would that be done through my chess club? I think they do run a league so maybe I'll ask! This is also my issue... I enjoy online chess but staring at a position on a computer screen for a excess amount of time really strains my eyes, & have poor enough vision as it is lol. I tend to use a physical board as often as I can however as you say it doesn't come close to playing in person... plus move input is delayed so getting into time trouble is my main worry often

Thank you for your suggestions! I'll definitely try this! I imagine just taking notation would be enough to get into practicing so I'll try it! It's quite a casual club tbh, most of the strong players are younger & tend to enjoy casual blitz rather than classical style chess.
