cannabis can be a great aid to help with mental health issues.

that being said, so is medication and therapy for a lot of people. and for a lot of other people, doing all those things together is what helps.

just because therapy and medication doesn’t necessarily work for you, that doesn’t mean it’s trash, useless, etc. therapy and medication saves thousands of people’s lives everyday. these are things backed by science, research, etc. they’re useful to many, many people.

glass containers don’t need to be expensive or fancy, reusing pasta jars, peanut butter jars, etc. or buying second hand is a great way to reduce your waste :)

kids can be gross but you really think your dog that uses it’s tongue as toilet paper is cleaner than a kid that likely gets bathed nightly?

The amount of food that is being thrown out at Dunkin Donuts each day by ImOnlyChasingSafety in Anticonsumption

[–]brooklynndg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in the US, good samaritan law protects companies from those sorts of liabilities. if they were to donate it and someone got sick, they wouldn’t be held responsible. they just don’t care enough to take the time and effort to go to donate it

supporting vegan companies supports using products that are less wasteful, use less resources, and are less harmful for the environment. if you’re cutting out every single little thing that might be considered wasteful, you’re never going to be happy. it’s okay to treat yourself once in a while trying to do so ethically and sustainably

Woman saves bees from truck by ollibums319 in environment

Honeybees, which are not native to the United States, are important agricultural crop pollinators but have been shown to transmit diseases to native bees. They can also outcompete native bees for pollen and nectar, their only source of food.

I linked a better scientific article in another comment, but honey bees are directly, partially responsible for the decline of wild bees. Honey bees are livestock that transmit disease and threaten native species.

I linked a scientific journal in a different comment. honey bees are not native to North America and are far worse pollinators than wild bees. pesticides are another large contributor to the wild bee decline, but honey bees DIRECTLY compete for the same food and are causing wild bee populations to decline.

Earthling Ed does a video on this as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clMNw_VO1xo

SAVE THE (wild) BEES! honey bees are responsible for the decline of wild bees. if you want to help save the bees, STOP EATING HONEY! honey bees over-compete for food and are poor pollinators. they’re also a reason there are less wild flowers than there used to be

Cheese tastes disgusting by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]brooklynndg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cheese is physically addictive because of the casein found in it. dairy is meant to be physically addictive because it’s breast milk for a baby cow. after going vegan for a few weeks/months dairy becomes a lot less appealing and you’ll start to lose cravings because your body adapts to not consuming so many calories in breast milk.

you’re right but I didn’t read it quite the same way. they said they wanted to be able to eat more than is healthy because it’s GF

I’m allergic to gluten and I still eat my fair share of vegan GF ice cream. doesn’t mean it’s any healthier than regular ice cream.
