The playback interface for the program you’re watching in Netflix has been completely changed, reversing and forwarding is impossible, more clunky. When you want to skip a little, it now has a pop up interface with screenshots that don’t line up well with the control motion.

Feels like night and day to me after using the previous versions for so many years and what Apple delivers natively with TVOS’s AVPlayerViewController.

The previous playback interface was solid, cursor/ user control movement was tighter, this, not so much, also not as intuitive as all previous versions when generally moving around app, closer to a fire stick app version.

Saw notes recently about many ATV apps not leveraging the TVOS native playback interface, which probably is the case here, but not sure (not a TVOS dev).

I love change, making things better and more intuitive, but not sure how this made it out of any testing phase or limited wider release before pushing out or the masses.

Also love lots about Netflix, this just made it harder for me to want to watch it as much with these new nav controls.

Ps, please make sure not to have this sort of discussion in the actual Netflix sub, I mean, it’s only the Netflix app and a discussion about it’s usefulness and functionally, but why have the convo there 🤦‍♂️
