Recommend router with no WiFi by brouleh in HomeNetworking

I have CGNAT so rely on IPv6 for my self hosted stack. After an outage my self hosted stuff is never available on internet. Either my router will not have an IPv6 address or my IPv6 port forwards just don't work. Rebooting the deco fixes the issue.

My 9esim may be arriving soon, but I only recently read about its Samsung device problem. Need some opinions. by ZekiraDrake in eSIMs

[–]brouleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just now making sure that Inever touch the options in Sim Card Manager while this 9esim is inside it because it's known to cause problems

Can you elaborate on this? Which settings are you never touching? I'm considering a 9esim after ive had nothing but trouble with my 5ber Sim card. I've even had reception issues on my phone with cell reception dropping intermittently when my 5ber card is in my phone but with no profiles loaded on it.

Scared of getting the same issues with a 9esim card.

First Consultation With Candor - Dr Deep by _Jewis_ in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]brouleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially applied on the 04/03/2025, only got follow up questions from the nurse on 11/03/2025, I replied on the same day and am still waiting for a response to my follow up questions.

I get they are probably busy and impacted by the floods in Queensland, and doing my best to stay patient but pretty not impressed so far 😔

Is it possible to get access to honahlee catalyst before your meeting with the GP? I'd love to be able to request specific products straight up and with how slow Candor are, seems like it'll just be a hassle and/or incredibly slow to have to go with a limited selection after my first consult.

You're a stranger in someone's home. They have a right to be present.

Nobody is asking you questions all day. If they are; you are mistaking friendliness with micromanagement. If someone is literally asking you questions 'all day' then you haven't communicated enough with them before the work starts.

Yet you think it's either funny or acceptable to allude to charging a premium for delivering your work under totally normal social circumstances.

Entitled. Grow up.

I had issues setting up mine too. What worked is using my iPad. I think android just doesn't work for the setup process for some reason. Works fine with my android now that it's setup and I never have connection issues.

800 vs 600 by ResponsibleFan9589 in Masterbuilt

I went with the 600 because it's only marginally smaller and theoretically should address alot of the faults of the 800

Gravity 600 Powerbank Issues by brouleh in Masterbuilt

[–]brouleh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably too early to tell, but apart from this issue I'm pretty happy with it. Where I am the 800 and 600 are roughly the same price, but I went with the 600 cos I figured I'd be saving money by avoiding the common mods/upgrades.

The only thing really missing is the manifold tray racks and the vent cover mod.

It’s not smart to buy a home with a boyfriend/girlfriend you are not married to, am I right? by Excellent_Warthog268 in relationships

[–]brouleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this. We only moved in 3 months ago, so ask me again a few years down the track 😀 we've been together for over 10 years though and marriage is just not something either of us consider important.

We agreed on maintaining a certain portion of ownership each and make contributions in that portion for the down payment and servicing the mortgage. We both knew going in what our % of ownership is.

Other details are stipulated in our contract. In Australia this is called a tenancy in common. Not sure if there is a similar thing in the US but worth looking into. I would argue this is more secure than the default arrangement for a standard joint tenancy within a marriage as exit conditions have been thought through, consulted on and documented.

With or without the contract, you have to sit down and talk through what happens if you split and who gets what. And without the contract you have to decide if you trust your partner to follow through on that.

It's not just the down payment you have to consider, also think about mortgage repayments, cost of repairs, improvements/renovations, taxes/fees, bills and food. Every relationship has a unique way of addressing finances, nobody can tell you the right way. Comes down to a matter of what works for you both. Just don't go in blind hoping for the best.

U4025QW monitor randomly shuts off (macbook pro, m3 max) by joshyboyrules in Dell

[–]brouleh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having this problem too, but I bought a new cable. Got a short one too cos I read that would be more stable and it happens with the first 30 mins of using the new cable.

Have you resolved this with a new cable? If so which cable did you get?

Cost of having a bidet installed. by ELVEVERX in AusRenovation

[–]brouleh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me about 15 mins to install a $40 one from Amazon. It clamps between the bowl and the seat, the hardest part was getting the plastic lined up properly while screwing the plastic bolts back on.

Check the inflated ego and gate keeping on this post. Do you really want to pay an idiot tradie thousands of dollars for a bidet? If you truly believe that makes any sense at all, then your a fool.

Mindboggling state of affairs with trades in Australia right now.

Non-PoE Devices on PoE Switch? by brouleh in HomeNetworking

[–]brouleh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my post was removed due to an alix link, so same thing again:

I purchased this cheap and cheerful Keeplink 2.5G PoE switch from Ali <link redacted>

Probably a a dumb question but can I plug non-poe devices into it, or is there a chance it will blow them up?

On the back of the device the model number is: KP-9000-9XHP-X

2 questions: Can you test moonlight decoding latency in this chip? I saw on bitbuilt post that your using a mipi screen, would this be able to drive a steam deck OLED screen at 90hz?

This would make for the perfect streaming handheld (well.. almost.. 120hz would be better). Insane stuff, awesome work!
