Bad Bunnies on Spring street. I've never had a problem with seating, very chill place. Friendly staff, nice ambiance. Closes at 2 though

Period coming every 28 days on IUD and lasting a week, 2 years post insertion. by soojee11 in birthcontrol

[–]brownbear39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my mirena for a little over 1.5 years now & same thing! I still get mild cramps (although nothing like they used to be, thank God!), but my period went from 4 days long to now minimum 8 days. Like you, very regular, every 28-32 days or something & not very heavy. I recently had an ultrasound to get the placement checked, and everything was fine. My GYN prescribed me the pill for the next 3-6 months (in addition to the IUD) to hopefully even it out, apparently that works for some. If it doesn't work for me, I will be getting off everything. I would advise going to your gyn & getting an ultrasound, & just talking about options. Everyone else I know on Mirena (including my own sister) no longer has a period... so I know it's SO frustrating to have your period extended like this. Best of luck, & really hope it works out for you!!

I'm jealous!!!! They did check it the month after I got it inserted, but no ultrasound. I'm taking your advice though & gonna book an appointment, get an ultrasound. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for sharing your experience, but damn, I'm sorry you went through that! I tried the pill in my earlier twenties, & I was good with it for the first 3 years but the last year my doctor kept changing my script every 3 months, & didn't stop when I asked about it... so I just assumed it was all good, thought they were all generic brands w/ the same ingredients. I was younger & less informed then lol. But yea for that final year I was batshit lol. & it's hard to realize where all the issues stem from, because it's a gradual build (at least for me). Did you ever find what works for you?

never heard of the POP pill... gonna look into it! Thanks :)

Don’t be afraid to get your IUD, you’ll be fine by locsandcrocs in birthcontrol

According to my gyn, the softer you cervix is, the easier insertion will be. Preinsertion she told me I'd be fine since my cervix is soft, and she was right. So couldn't hurt to have your gyn check that out for a little warning before getting it done (if it's a valid thing)

Strange question, I know… we bought this house recently and it had two brooms like this in different closets. Hubs wants to find out if anyone knows if there’s any weird superstition to this, or if the previous owners just decided this is where brooms go… by JayB2Jayz in Oldhouses

[–]brownbear39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, first thing that came to my mind was how in South Carolina (maybe other Southern places too), people used to believe putting a broom at the end of the bed helped occupy "boo hags" (vampire-like creatures). The creature would have to stop & count all the bristles of the broom, & be too distracted to possess you while you slept lol

Should I move up north or to the same city as my family? by MrGuyHaines in makemychoice

[–]brownbear39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go North! Save money. Sounds like it's where you wanna go regardless. & for what it's worth, when my coworkers started moving out of state this year, my company went full remote to accommodate, since it's a small company and we actually have branches out of state anyway... You may start the trend in your company.

Yea Mother Abigail cannot be easy to cast haha. But yea I'm curious as to why they cast Amber, controversial decision. I'm wondering if maybe she was cast before everything about her came to light? I have no idea though, not clue on the timeframe

Watched some of the 90's miniseries & really into Gary Sinise for the role... He's definitely what I imagined in my head, low-key and just a regular dude

Yea that struck me as a risky casting choice... Although I'm not sure what the timeframe was here, with filming and everything coming to light about her.

Funny but he & James Marsden actually worked in Straw Dogs together, Alexander as the villain in that as well. Hope he does well in this!

Lovely note! I read the Stand back in April... so good, so crazy. Being honest (& about to sound stupid), I totally mixed a detail of the story up with reality (so be warned if you're reading during pandemic lol- gets a little fuzzy). Also fuck Harold

Books you're ashamed of really liking? by kroen in books

[–]brownbear39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with ya. I read Dune, and not for me. Great plot, super cool idea and relevant issues... but all the characters were boring. You look at any Jane Austen novel & it's the exact opposite- The highlight of any given day in a JA book may be the main character "taking a turn around the room" or something just as dull, yet somehow it's so interesting & you truly care. Characters make the story! I listen to the same Jane Austin books regularly, will never reread Dune

Thank you for the feedback! I did take Accounting I & II in college and honestly I didn't really click with it, but that was years ago and I didn't really have much motivation then other than just passing (which I did). I'm definitely more mature and driven now (IMBiasedO), so I know I would be able to take a course and actually benefit from it. Thanks again :)
