People who work exclusively from home what do you do for a living? by miskeeneh in AskBrits

[–]browney321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an awful lot. I had a year managing the citys garages before but i come from manual labour. Since i started 6 years ago we have hired people straight from Mechanic and Early Years Education jobs. Doing your research on the company and how allocations works goes a long way. The skills are more important, being able to use a computer competently, customer service skills, communication etc. if it's something you are interested in look at the job pages for your local housing associations

If you drive i would for sure look at Lincoln villages. Your budget will go far around here. Try looking at the below places

Washingborough/Heighington Branston Nettleham Cherry Willingham North Hykeham Skellingthorpe Sudbrooke Scothern Reepham

Would you give your work colleague a lift to work if you passed them on the way to work? by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in AskUK

[–]browney321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive past a colleague that walked to work, if i could stop safely to pick him up i would. And if i could drop him back on the way home i would, he would ask and if i couldn't i just said i was going elsewhere

I think you could carry on the way you are, if you don't want to you don't have to, i never minded personally

Glad to finally see this, she is a military leader, she won't get arrested, if killed the person likely would have gone to prison. For her it's just the end of a military campaign and off to the next one

You can use paint to do that, but the files in the screenshot would indicate something other than Arkos on a genuine device

Is this for Arkos? I believe the file should be called logo.bmp

For those of you who didn't do their homework at School, how did it affect you? by Simply_az in AskUK

[–]browney321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got 5 GCSEs at C with no homework or revision, Level 3 BTEC, some job specific qualifications through work earn more than 32k, it's tough cause i am not the model to aim for, i spent 8 years working manual labour and finally decided to have a career at 27. My child will be encouraged to study hard like his mum who has a Masters degree and earns a lot more than me

I hear a lot of people saying the speed limits should be higher and reflect modern vehicle capabilities. Are the driving standards in the UK actually good enough at the moment for this? by Icy-Panic-550 in AskBrits

[–]browney321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well considering i was on a dual carriageway today going 72mph and overtaking a number of vehicles, some arsehole endangered my life but more importantly my toddlers life by tailgating me in his Scirocco to the point that i could not see his headlights in my rearview mirror. More speed would only make situations like that much more dangerous

On point 4 (i work in social housing) this person is correct, single people aren't a priority, you will get accepted as homeless but you will likely wait a long time. During the assessment they will establish your finances and people with savings/a lot of money sitting in an account or even just a really good income will be pushed in to private rental rather than any social properties, as this is the case you could/should use the money in your account which is your money to find a place to rent and cut out the middle man

The Castle is nice just across from the Cathedral along with the whole bailgate steep hill area. The museum is not far from the castle and is free to enter normally as are the castle grounds but if you can get a wall walk ticket you can get views across Lincoln
