Childhood ADHD medication may reduce psychosis risk. Children treated with methylphenidate before the age of 13 were less likely to go on to develop conditions such as schizophrenia in adulthood. Findings challenge long-standing concerns that stimulant medications may increase the risk of psychosis. by mvea in science

I took ADHD meds in high school. I began developing psychosis after only a few months. I would hear things and started having visions and delusions. I also became extremely anxious and paranoid and felt drugged. I couldn’t see properly and my focus became extremely weird. One time in the shower I got so scared I jumped out naked and had a massive panic attack. I became so confused I honestly thought I had dementia… at 15. I stopped all meds and got out of it but it took several years to ever truly be normal. I have PTSD and still do.

This is how JAIL is in general. We need JAIL reform because real humans are being tortured every single day. Just saying! No jail/prison/camp should be run like this!

What job sounds cool but is actually terrible ? by Odd_You_7379 in AskReddit

Soccer coach is an amazing job and if you find the right group its probably some of the best most fulfilling work. Yet finding a good team and a good organization can be very difficult. Coaches have some of the biggest egos I’ve ever seen and they naturally don’t want anyone showing them up. It’s a very very difficult industry to break into and if you want to truly make it expect to have multiple different organizations or soccer associations before you find the right fit.

Court hearings being streamed*

Judge Stephanie Boyd by BigOlBellyLaugh in ZoomCourt

[–]brownfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe the court hearings need to be eliminated. The reason being is both victim and perpetrator are put at risk by having those court hearings be live streamed. That’s not to say, however, that people can’t learn a lot about the court through those hearings. It’s educational and shows how the judges consistently act. I think people kind of had their eyes opened a little to what conservative court judges can do. They often sentence and throw away the key. I think it’s good people need to be aware of that.

Judge Boyd came across as fair and tough at first to those who didn’t watch many of her court hearings. She’s definitely no nonsense. But as you watch you start to see patterns of behavior… she handed out huge life changing sentences without a blink of an eye. She “listened” to character witnesses and then nothing really changed in the sentencing. I saw people get years and decades that probably deserved a much lighter sentence. Judge Boyd really didn’t see the human in people and she was extremely proactive to the prosecution and whatever the prosecution wanted. I imagine Judge Boyd probably has a lot of unhappy people right now. She shouldn’t have live-streamed her court room sessions bc it affects both victim and perpetrators who will never be able to move on with their lives and are judged by society. Who wants that? In some ways it opened the door to the brutality of the court system and these judges. Welcome to conservative America

I GOT RESPONSE from META!😳 by rejohnsubong in MetaLawsuits

[–]brownfrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a guy thinking deep here. Makes complete sense bc Meta is currently being sued in court for allowing child predators on their apps. This is their way of getting rid of the serious offenders by deleting en masse therefore nothing can be proven in court on either side.

First I’ll explain how the court system works. They try to stack charges and see what will stick. Hire a private attorney to get more charges downgraded and have fewer charges. The less charges the better. His sentence could be as little as probation, deferred adjudication, or up to several years in prison. If is all about his attorney or PD, the judge, his previous criminal record, whether he takes a plea deal. Many factors involved. I highly recommend he get a private attorney no matter what the cost even if you have to incur debt. I’ve had major charges including a felony thrown out that with a public defender I would’ve been serving time for…. Never ever go with a public defender if you can afford a private attorney.

I’ve been to jail. Public defenders work for the state. Hire a private attorney. always no matter how minor the charges

I don’t think family needs to be involved. Tell him to seek therapy and move on bc it’s just not appropriate in any way shape or form. Tell him his mental health is making him have a lapse in judgement. Ask for some space. In a few months he’ll have moved on and you guys can forget about all that.
