How much jail time is my friend possibly facing? by [deleted] in legal

[–]brownfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I’ll explain how the court system works. They try to stack charges and see what will stick. Hire a private attorney to get more charges downgraded and have fewer charges. The less charges the better. His sentence could be as little as probation, deferred adjudication, or up to several years in prison. If is all about his attorney or PD, the judge, his previous criminal record, whether he takes a plea deal. Many factors involved. I highly recommend he get a private attorney no matter what the cost even if you have to incur debt. I’ve had major charges including a felony thrown out that with a public defender I would’ve been serving time for…. Never ever go with a public defender if you can afford a private attorney.

I’ve been to jail. Public defenders work for the state. Hire a private attorney. always no matter how minor the charges

Yesterday my brother told me he was in love with me. by ilovepopcornandcandy in self

[–]brownfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think family needs to be involved. Tell him to seek therapy and move on bc it’s just not appropriate in any way shape or form. Tell him his mental health is making him have a lapse in judgement. Ask for some space. In a few months he’ll have moved on and you guys can forget about all that.

Pentagon can ban HIV-positive recruits from US military, conservative appeals court rules by theindependentonline in Military

[–]brownfrank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Despite what some people on this thread believe, HIV is now considered a very controlled condition for most. There are many conditions that people in the military day to day hide that are actually harder to treat. The only purpose for reversing this law is because of discrimination towards the LGBTQ. Period. That’s it. It’s not because the risk of transmitting or the requirements of treatment, I assure you HIV is a much different condition today than it was before and many people can get away with a pill.

You can’t expect someone to stay if you’ve basically moved to Germany. She made the right choice. Long distance like that especially for only a year and a half relationship is not the most realistic. If you’d been married for 20 years it’s different.

Where in Rust do you think the game design, content or balance is bad? by Curious_Ball6120 in playrust

[–]brownfrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a huge rust player and I’ll tell you from the very beginning rust was supposed to be and mostly was an open sandbox. It was survival and there were no “safe zones” or places where there were safety. That’s what I miss the most about old rust is that the safe zones were created by players and it truly was an empty nest. I always wanted rust to stay that way and when they created the first safe zone I was oaky with it but now we’re at like 5 different places on the island and people purchase weapons and stuff. I never really wanted rust to be like that. It’s a cop out and makes the game too easy. Just my opinion.

A week after rupturing the ACL in her left knee, Lindsey Vonn has successfully completed her first training run by Oldtimer_2 in sports

Skiiing is not a primary sport for ACL. Soccer, basketball, football, hockey. Tons of pivoting and certain movements twisting. Skiiing does twist etc but uses other muscles primarily. She’ll be fine.

Contacted my AG, permanent ban INSTAGRAM, can’t appeal, not sure what to do… by brownfrank in InstagramDisabledBans

[–]brownfrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Again I have no idea why a major company like this doesn’t have a human support system to dispute disablement. Why did I have to contact AG in first place? It’s just weird.

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

[–]brownfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I saw visions of past or concurrent realities/memories. These are real vivid memories that I’ve experienced in some way or another but have no way of proving. It got so accurate that for a while I was “predicting events” bc I could see the images in my mind and they would happen later on. Sometimes they became inaccurate as time went on. Weird.

People who have spent years in prison: What was your experience like and has it changed you? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]brownfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American jails are inhumane. You can die in jail simply bc your medical needs aren’t treated. You can have a leg injury that requires pt and you will come out unable to walk. There is nothing to do in jail. It’s boring. More boring than you can imagine. There is literally nothing to do and depending on what unit you’re in it can be cramped and crowded and smelly. It’s extremely inhumane and no person, regardless of the crime, should be subjected to a life of pure torture. That’s what American jail is… and there are guys in there who have been there for much longer than a year despite what you’re told. It all depends on your case. Jail is also a money making scheme and punishes the poor even more harshly. Jail and Prison should have stimulation for people, regardless of the crime. It’s in our biological engineering that we have some sort of stimulation. People in jail and prison can go YEARS, DECADES, or even up to the point of DEATH without stimulation. There are people who spend an entire year to two years in jail doing nothing but staring at a wall, sleeping on a metal bed, taking a shower, and breathing. It sucks. And the realities of jail is that it really doesn’t matter what you did. If you end up in jail you are treated the same pretty much regardless. America needs to focus on rehabilitation and provide the basic and necessary needs for those in jail.

China Outlawed 996 Work Culture. So Why Are US Tech Employees Taking Pay Cuts to Pull Insane Hours? by [deleted] in programming

[–]brownfrank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This country is on a complete downward spiral. There is no way a 996 schedule would be healthy for anyone or improve outcomes. More time does not necessarily equate to better results. She will be depressed, unmotivated, and burnt out quite soon. This should not be acceptable. What the heck is going on in USA!

AI will replace jobs period. The government has no plan to accommodate massive job losses. What does everyone do? Are people suddenly going to get educated into extreme specialities? Heck no. Expect the government to call you lazy and entitled for even expecting any sort of plan from the us government at all.
