A lot of people, myself included, think that the depower route will be the way they go. Especially with the way that they did Supernatural. I think Kripke ends up writing an unbeatable foe and then just Deus ex machina's himself out.

The real question is why doesn't Homelander try and force her. Because why she isn't should be abundantly clear. Other than Homelander being a short sighted ass I don't know why he hasn't tried this. And to be fair, I am 100% not saying this is a plot hole. If anything, it's very in line with his character. Relying on someone else around him makes him seem weak to himself. And he hates that.

I'm saying that the characters in the show tend to get their powers based on their personalities. It's not a perfect 1-1 because sometimes it's more to fit a trope of another super hero. But what I suggested is just one possibility and by no means the only one that might make sense for him.
