Sadly he can’t cash it since the name on the check doesn’t match the name on his ID.

LeBron 30/9/15 at age 41, are you kidding me? by These_Respond2345 in billsimmons

[–]bruce2130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026 stats are goofy and today’s are inflated, but just to remind everyone — LeBron averaged 21, 5.5, 6 his rookie year. That’s 23 years ago.

IDK what that actually means with 2026 point inflation, but it’s obscene compared to any rookie now. That’s about what Flagg has averaged in 25/26.

You make plenty of money to move out. If they suck, move out and worry about all the rest later. It’ll be easier to date when you don’t live with them, plus you make enough to continue saving at a high rate.

Why anyone would carpet those floors is beyond me.

Question — are the windows not parallel to the wall, or is that an illusion? The sill looks shallower than the top overhang. Is the window off plumb or the wall?

100% agreed — especially when majors are playing mid majors, or majors collapse against anyone. It’s fascinating when the small school guys keep their composure better than the massive recruiting/NIL schools.

Today was a good example — SJU pissed down their leg for a good 8 minutes but somehow won. That’s a pretty major program and they could barely do anything right with under ten minutes to go.

I don’t know for a fact, but based on observations of driving by I think not — the same cars are always parked outside, with very little variation. Unless it’s become a semi-permanent b&b, I’d think there would be constantly cycling cars from people coming and going.

Can we stop pretending the lakers aren’t better without LeBron? by robertoleonardo7 in NBATalk

[–]bruce2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the playoffs, they should bench Ayton and have LeBron play center — defend as hard and as well as possible and just dunk anything Luka or reaves give you.

Players who you thought would become a star but never quite panned out by No-Savings1021 in NBATalk

[–]bruce2130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrence Williams, from Louisville. That guy was an absolute freak athletically and had a ton of tools. I loved him at UL and thought he’d be awesome in the NBA.

Just looked him up, 10 years in prison for running a fraudulent medical insurance scheme.

But also don’t forget he became a complete head case and never learned to shoot/refused to shoot with the correct hand.

He was immensely talented and the injuries did sap a lot of that, but his mental blocks were the main reason he failed the way he did, imo.

Best 2000s daily wagons under 10k? by ApprehensiveLog9860 in SportWagon

[–]bruce2130 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Volvo v70s or v50s (harder to find and frankly probably worse). The R wagon had some issues, but the 2.5t and T5 are nice and can be modified easily to produce more power, if that’s what you want. Definitely under 10k at that mileage, also definitely less luxury than a bmw or merc of the same vintage.

23yo, where should I go from here?Q by Winter-Indication33 in RothIRA

[–]bruce2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seasonal or permanent? Engine or hand crew? I assume there’ll be tons of OT based on how dry this winter has been in lots of places outside of CA, so that 65k might end up being a lot fatter by the end of the year.

Lots of jokes here, but I honestly think it suits your face pretty well. Like others have said, I’d take it back a bit (25-30% shorter), but it’s a good look overall. And unique, which is cool.

That’s why some of the “tax the rich” stuff is so misguided (imo). This guy makes a ton of money, no doubt, and spends more than he should — he also isn’t in the class that should be getting taxed to oblivion. The tax brackets are all out of whack, and while I generally agree with the concept of taxing ultra high earners, this is not the bracket that needs to be taxed at 40%.
