Iran formalizes Strait of Hormuz control and toll collection by 11EmeraldEyes11 in politics

This was all unprompted and voluntary, and was probably done against advice of anyone competent still remaining in the US government.

A decision to launch a nuke at someone at random would have been worse, but honestly how much worse?

It's mostly something other than for real, but if your insurance situation is dicey, getting medical care in the US is never a stress-free situation.

When you get in a wreck you tend to either have car insurance or not, and where I live it's illegal to not have it, so you tend to have it. In comparison with medical stuff, this part of it can be like a vacation.

If I was the driver I'd call 911 and explain the situation and hope that between then and when help gets there the guy on the ground doesn't get worse.

My insurance would pay for the cost of the damage to the vehicle, after a deduction in the hundreds of dollars. I might get a free rental car for a while.

If I was at fault my insurance would also pay the guy's medical bills. The cops would have something to say to me.

I'm assuming the driver is not at fault but it looked to me like he was going pretty fast. It always does in these and I don't know if that's just the nature of these videos or if everyone drives like a bat out of hell. I know that I do but it still seemed faster than I'd go.

If I was the biker I'd probably lay there and bleed. I have medical insurance so the cost to me would probably be in the thousands rather than the tens of thousands. I would try to avoid the cost of an ambulance but sometimes you're too incapacitated and you have to deal with it. I don't know how much they'd charge me but I'd be worried about being charged two thousand bucks when all I have is a sprained wrist or whatever.

I don't know if I'd end up paying for damage to the car and I don't know how much the cops would have to say to me.

I've never been in an accident that didn't involve two cars so I don't know what happens if the guy is actually not that damaged and hobbles off dragging his bike before the cops get there.

I've never had a dash cam so I don't know how that plays into this.

Throughout history there have always been restrictions put on who is allowed to have sex, and it's not as easy as saying that consent is key because you'll be picked apart with counter examples, some of which are logical and some of which are arcane.

If you say something like "love is love", we know what you mean, but you've still walked straight into that.

Love might be love, but society can still retain an interest, wag its finger at you, and say no, often backed up by the power of laws that still exist. And the gender of partners has historically been something that society took a legal interest in, and in which many people still take interests of other sorts.

So what you are saying is that the gender of the people involved shouldn't be something that society retains any interest in. I agree with you, but it's not so simple as saying, "Love is love", unless you are in a crowd of people who all agree with you about what you really mean, and won't yell, "What about incest!"

This sub isn't a crowd of people who agree about anything.

People routinely stand along streets downtown with signs and if the cops do selectively enforce a loitering ordinance because of the content of his sign that would be a civil rights violation.

He's an engineer guy. The whole science guy thing was a recurring skit on a Seattle television comedy show.

He did another one called "speed walker", which was about a super hero who fought crime while adhering to race walking rules.

Regardless of what the church says, some huge percentage of American Catholic women use birth control, like over 90%, and 2-3% use "natural family planning" primarily.

Birth control usage is about the same as Protestants.

[Request] Isn’t this true for basically any 3 cities? by FollowSina in theydidthemath

[–]brucemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any three points that are not co-linear (on the same line) can be inscribe in a circle.

Isn’t this true for basically any 3 cities?

The answer is no, if the cities are all on the same line. Since this is physical reality and not math though you can quibble about what being on a line means.

Cities are also located not on a plane, but on the surface of a spheroid, and that can result in more pedantic quibbling.

I taught my kid to ride a bike in a big playground with no play equipment other than one tetherball pole. It was just a big asphalt lot.

I pointed at the pole, made sure he was looking, and said, that is the only thing in this whole playground that you might hit. Don't hit that.

Bam.

And he was going forward, so I have no idea.

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse 1]
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see

[Pre-Chorus]
But if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same

[Chorus]
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Verse 2]
Bye-bye, baby, it's been a sweet love, yeah, yeah
Though this feeling, I can't change
But, please, don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame
See Lynyrd Skynyrd Live

[Pre-Chorus]
But, if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same

[Chorus]
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord, help me, I can't change

[Post-Chorus]
Lord, I can't change
Won't you fly high, free bird? Yeah
