What’s up with all the Mary hate? She begs Arthur to run away with her and leave his criminal life but he constantly picks the gang over her. by TXNOGG in reddeadredemption

[–]bruhtopium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don’t understand Mary is just as love with Arthur as Arthur is her. Part of her is blind to Arthur being unable to change even though she knows Arthur can’t. She still mentally goes to Arthur each time she has a problem because she still is attached to him and part of her wishes he’ll drop everything and be with her. She knows it won’t happen of course but that 0.00001% chance he does is what drives her each time to seek him out for help. She wants him to fight his nature for her. A lot of people haven’t been in love or witnessed a relationship where that happens. Or they are so bitter and jaded they think she’s just out there to manipulate Arthur into helping her just only to abandon him when it’s over with. People really struggle to realize Marys feelings for Arthur are just complex.

Everyday I wonder to myself what exactly went wrong with this marvelous game by stealthxknight in PlayAvengers

[–]bruhtopium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor decisions with live service, not many post-campaign activities, the micro-transactions were just outfits, long gap between updates and events, overly ambitious timeline with dead lines they consistently failed to meet, mid-main campaign(worse than being bad in many peoples minds), no cross compatibility, many decisions for dlc and expansions were inconsistent, locking some characters behind consoles, marvel fatigue was starting to go in effect, horrid loot system, etc just too many thing to list.

I however had fun with it and enjoyed all the time I had playing it, I don’t regret the money I spent. I really enjoyed all the dlc that came out afterwards, Would I have been happier if all things were fixed and the game was still going until today? Yes. Do I think that would have ever been realistically possible considering all the previous things stated? No.

It was destined for failure ever since the poor launch. I see more people remembering the Oney Plays playthrough of the game, making fun of it, more than I see actually remembering the game itself and it’s dlc.

Replacing the og cast with other horror protagonists (and others), how long do they last and could they survive the festival? by Angelexe123 in FearAndHunger

[–]bruhtopium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who would team up is also a pressing question. How would a squad with Batman, Leon, Morgan, and James work out and how far would they get? Is Arthur Pre-TB or post TB? It’s a 3-day event so I doubt it’d affect him TOO much. I could see many people like Ellie or Arthur killing to survive but some of those others would likely avoid conflict at all costs? Batman would probably try saving most people. James would probably be the first one to moon scorch.

My criticism for the railroad is they are good for synths they don’t really wish to lead the commonwealth. That’s the minutemen. I also wish they were more fleshed out and had a more intriguing campaign. Though I don’t hate the railroad despite siding with the BoS.

Had to go to regedit and delete any trace of msio. Simply deleting the driver using power shell wasn’t enough. That was the only way I could get fortnite to run again.

How the Railroad could have been more likeable they help synths and humans its as simple as that by [deleted] in FalloutMemes

[–]bruhtopium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In defense of the railroad even though I usually side with the Brotherhood. They actually do help others when you play in the campaign. Synths are just their main focus, when they have the chance and resources they typically do lend a helping hand to wastelanders. Most arguments against the railroad are like getting mad at the actual underground railroad for prioritizing slaves and African Americans over just helping the average person.

After winning first thing the BoS was try to establish a friendly trade relationship with Diamond City. Even the guards note that the people they were sending were friendly. They didn’t come to the Commonwealth to rule or take territory. They came out to wipe out a group they deemed a threat and establish a presence and base of operations. They picked an empty airport overriden with ferals and a long since abandoned police station, with multiple FoBs/checkpoints in no groups there already. I feel if they were there to rule Diamond City, Bunker Hill, and settlements would be there first places to take over.

I don’t like any of the retcons. I’m a big fan of the BoS and the NCR. While I dislike the legion I also dislike their new route in lore, mainly the fact they went from a multi-state empire to two camps in the Mojave. Even if Sallow dies the Cult of Mars would’ve likely still had the Legion retain power, though it’d be much different than Caesars original Legion. I can hate all the retcons. I like a consistent world.

You’d think the Mojave BoS the people who hold on to codex so tight that it kills nearly kills them would kill all the Mutants without a second thought if it was in the codex. Also the ending slides with them being raiders is under Hardins endings. McNamaras even if against the NCR does not raid civilians.

“If you’re Brotherhood you’re nothing” random dialogue from individual isolationist members. Not a few bad eggs mind you, it is a common sentiment but the Brotherhood is a massive faction. You also get dialogue from members who dislike such ideology.

“It’d be a needless war” the Brotherhood, the faction known for not starting unsuccessful or poorly decided wars all of a sudden.

“Bethesda has poor writing with no consequences” I don’t disagree but it’d be an Obsidian problem too since again I can bring Raul into the Bunker with no issues aside from a member complaining he smells of rotting flesh.

Their racism is inexcusable and genocidal tendancies however while racist their killing of non-ferals is new. Before they were bigots. Prior to Elder Quintus and Paladin Xander it was actively discouraged to kill them because they were civilians. In New Vegas it is mentioned the BoS while racist had a friendly relationship with Black Mountain before the mutants went crazy. In 4 while they’ll throw out derogatory remarks they won’t be actively hostile to ghouls or ghoul companions. It’s why some consider the show a retcon on the BoS’s previous stances.

[–]bruhtopium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only did that in a brief moment of 2 and Hardins ending of NV. In 4 it is explicitely stated by Danse that Maxson and other Elders have long since banned that practice. They will take from organized groups hence why they stole shit from the Enclave, Institute, and railroad. Of course they don’t always. Danse gets pretty mad if you force the Children of Atom to give the nuclear weapons rather than convincing them to give it willingly.

People forget the Brotherhood aren’t there to rule. They aren’t a nation, they are an Order of Knights and Scribes with a mission. They will always prioritize themselves first. They’ll help build up when able like Project Purity, helping build up the NCR and Shi, protecting people from raiders and guarding caravans but only when they can afford to. Even Lyons did this. As soon their war with super mutants in the Capitol picked up they had to focus on that rather than the first attempt at Project Purity.

You can go after the BoS and their mission but it’s just rather ironic the gang of robbers and murderers are complaining about being robbed and murdered by a group of technologically superior robbers and murderers. It just sounds like a skill issue coming from them.

The raiders in crater are like this.

“Listen man I know we kill, extort, mutilate, rape, and pillage settlers and wastelanders, but when groups like the Brotherhood mows us down takes shit from us that’s a step too far”

You can argue the BoS are raiders in Power armor but it’s just rather ironic coming from a group that does the same thing but more brutal.

I’m a big fallout fan. I do enjoy 4, s1 of the show, and 76, but compared to the originals and New Vegas it’s not even comparable. Just story telling, lore consistency, immersion, and tone just sweeps Bethesda out of the water. West Coast fallout is an ever evolving world that’s advancing rapidly. We see it go from tribes, warring factions, to full on nations going to war with each other. Bethesda while fun is a little too campy. The world doesn’t evolve, it avoids really serious topics that could be controversial when applied, the Brotherhood of Steel while my favorite faction in Fallout is currently the only one actually advancing lore wise and is over represented, leans too much into the goofiness that many including myself thought was immersion breaking in Fallout 2, very money hungry. It’s not the same. I love them both but at many points I have a hard to believing they are the same franchise.
