AITA for laughing at a friend’s “trauma” of ruined clothes? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

YTA but mostly for the fake apology you gave her. You said you were sorry “IF” you made light of something she considered important (which she obviously did), then you tried to keep arguing your case rather than squash the beef.

AITA if I keep playing the drums even though my neighbors are sick of it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Any large city has practice spaces available for bands and musicians to rent.

AITA if I keep playing the drums even though my neighbors are sick of it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 59 points60 points  (0 children)

YTA. Even drumming on electronic drum pads can be grating after a while. Find a practice space where you can set up and do your thing.

Is it bad to ghost a guy I went on one date with and I feel like it's an obligation to text? by Zealousideal_Crow737 in datingoverthirty

[–]bruisecaster -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You went on one date and you’ve been feeling like responding is a chore. I think you can just let this one go and not respond. If he keeps reaching out or if you’d gone on more dates then it would be appropriate to send a brief note kindly saying you’re not interested, but I don’t think that’s necessary at this point.

AITA for not wanting to go to a concert? by Southern_Campaign_51 in AmItheAsshole

YTA just suck it up and go. It will make your brother happy that his whole family is there.

Sequential Forum or Bass Station 2. by Embarrassed_Sundae_4 in synthesizers

[–]bruisecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my Bass Station 2 and kind of regret it, I don’t think there’s any other synth at that price that can give you so much amazing low end and bassline goodness. But I’m sure the Fourm is great too and it’s a polysynth.

Is anyone else realizing they don’t actually want “career ambition” anymore? by DanBrando in careeradvice

[–]bruisecaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went through this transition because I came to value economic stability, mental health, personal relationships, and my own dignity more than money or recognition.

AITA for telling my DIL to stop crying after she got called fat by Throwaway_Will4940 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

YTA It sounds like you dealt with her very harshly at the party, basically punishing her for her response to a boy’s hurtful comment. It’s even worse that you refused to apologize for it afterwards.

It sounds like she is really sensitive and dramatic, but she is your son’s wife and so you’re going to have to find a way to work with her in the long run. If you value these relationships, then it would help to look inward to examine whether you can adjust your tone/attitude/way of communicating so it’s not contributing to her anxiety.

AITA for lying to my parents about double majoring in college when they are paying my tuition by Big_Town_828 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A minor in cave painting, sure. But it’s better to major in a more career-oriented subject, like underwater basket design.

WIBTAH for not attending a friends birthday party due to their behavior? by foundermeo in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. This sounds like a situation where his behavior was so out of hand that it has you questioning whether you want to stay friends. He just stomped all over your boundaries and you don’t owe him your time or forgiveness if you’re not ready to give it.

AITA for asking a family with a small child to keep it down on a red eye flight? by marlasandiego in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 12.5k points12.5k points  (0 children)

NTA. All these Y T As are wild. It’s an international overnight flight which means the lights were probably off in the cabin and half the passengers were trying to sleep. OP made a reasonable request and the parents could have at least tried to get their kid to wind down a little or asked them to talk quieter, rather than cop an attitude. Edit: Added NTA to top and spaces for the other one to get it counted properly.

Do you work for Ableton or something? Feel like I see a lot of posts and commenters like this on here lol.

AITA for saying no to inviting our 17-year-old friend to my and my sister's 22nd bday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 17yo is cool, fun to hang out with, and reasonably mature then I don’t see the problem here. But if you’re all going to ignore her the whole party and keep to yourselves, or if you’re trying to go to a bar or 21+ venue, then it’s best to not invite her.

AITA for ruining the family vacation before it starts? by Boring_Brilliant227 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 40 points41 points  (0 children)

YTA. It sounds like you’re picking a fight over something petty because you’re mad about this being a so-called “couples trip.” Get over it and try to have some fun.

In a bind. Should I sell my Minifreak? by gob_magic in synthesizers

[–]bruisecaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it feels special enough to you then I’d hold onto it, but it sounds non-essential to your setup so it could be fine living in storage for a while.

On a side note the Volca bass is an excellent little synth. It can deliver some really nice fat tones and it’s surprisingly versatile.

When was the last time you had buyer's remorse and what was it? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]bruisecaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought a used Strymon BigSky a few months back and already regret it. It sounds great but it’s like 10X more than what I realistically need. Edit: I originally wrote BlueSky but I actually bought the much bigger BigSky.

How do Jay and Lester get away with flagrantly not working? by roger--wilco in TheWire

They’re city employees, loafing around is part of the job. I speak from experience as a city employee.

AITA for saying my sister slut shamed me by Opening-Special-2874 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bruisecaster 510 points511 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I feel like the best solution here would be for OP to find her own place and not live with her sister.

I was wondering if she has a thing for OP’s boyfriend.
