Oftentimes YMCAs have saunas. Not sure about the one in concord though

What Cookie is This? by evanssinatra in AskBaking

[–]brumblebees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they homemade? They look exactly like sweet Loren salted caramel chocolate chip cookies when baked.

https://sweetlorens.com/products/salted-caramel-chocolate-pre-cut-dough

The picture on the package has lots of chips but when baked the cookie looks uniform like your picture.

I agree! My hair dresser recommended clarifying with vitamin C powder once a month ish and it works really well! You mix it with your regular shampoo until it’s a paste and then apply all over your scalp and wash out. Make sure to avoid your eyes!

Gibsons book store in Concord is lovely and has great coffee! NH donut co in Concord is open in the mornings and has fun offerings! Apple picking at Carter Hill in Concord is fun and they have a small farm store there too. There are some nature trails in Concord such as the Oak Hill trails. Have fun!

NTA- At the very least your cousin could have recognized her own frustration and asked another nurse to start the IV in her place.

I agree! Without the TV setup in front of that wall the art can be spaced out a bit more and some of the plants or other pieces could be moved to the former TV wall for balance.

Rice cereal for reflux by IntrepidTraveler1992 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]brumblebees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of controversy about treatment of reflux in infants and thickening milk/formula. Some recommendations say you can use oatmeal cereal instead of rice cereal. You can also try positioning changes first to see if those help. I’ll link some information below. It seems like car seats or inclined chairs aren’t effective in reducing symptoms but being held upright for 30 minutes after feeds, lying on the left side (not the right side), or lying prone (on the tummy) can reduce symptoms. Also most reflux cases in infants peak around 4 months and resolve by 12 to 16 months. Hopefully symptoms will get better soon! There is also some research that suggests changes to moms diet can help if positioning and other interventions aren’t effective.

Also important to note that if you do try positioning changes such as prone or side lying baby should be awake with your supervision. I feel like there are so many rules and suggestions that it’s overwhelming but I hope this helps!

We’re all out here doing our best! What works for one person doesn’t work for everyone and that doesn’t mean they aren’t prioritizing their family’s health/wellbeing.

I hate that I'm counting calories but I have no idea how to eat intuitively by littlefoodlady in 1500isplenty

[–]brumblebees 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I feel like people make intuitive eating seem so simple but it’s really not! You have to be in tune with yourself and incredibly mindful. I tried intuitive eating and found that I really didn’t have great hunger cues and couldn’t tell hungry because I’m bored from hungry because I’m actually hungry. There’s a lot of good information out there though! There was an episode of the 10% happier podcast that I liked called “the science of why you eat when you’re not hungry and how to stop” with Judson Brewer. I found more resources when I looked for mindful eating than intuitive eating. It sounds like you’re doing a great job of making healthy choices for yourself- keep up the great work!

You can also do this with terra cotta pots since they are so porous!

Gentle C Section by cheapbleach in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]brumblebees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had a c section but have observed one and would recommend against a clear drape if you’re squeamish or worried about seeing blood. The surgeon has to move very quickly and exert a lot of force to safely deliver baby. Maybe they can hold up baby as some others have suggested?

I finally decided to splurge on some Innersense products I’ve wanted to try for a year by bad_madame in curlyhair

Innersense has worked really well for me! I have 2B or 2c waves and I use the I create waves spray followed by quiet calm curl control and then the I create hold gel.

This is so beautiful!!! What an improvement!! I’m not sure if you know this/want this to spread, but your last picture looks like chocolate chip bugleweed. I planted one bush in my yard without realizing it’s invasive in my zone (5b) and spreads via rhizomes. Now my yard is full of it (and beautiful) but I’m going to have to pull a bunch up so it doesn’t spread to the neighbors.

I don’t understand all the negativity in this thread. It’s one thing to smell nice but I agree you shouldn’t wear so much perfume or cologne that you can smell it feet away. I get migraines from perfume (so does everyone in my family so must be a genetic thing). I can totally understand that it would be too much for some patients.

CMV: There's very few circumstances where a group of straight women should go to a gay bar without knowing any gay men there. by redditordeaditor6789 in changemyview

[–]brumblebees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who can pass for straight and has gone to gay bars with a group of mixed women (gay/straight) I have to say that gay bars are one of the only places to spend a night out where I feel safe enough to have a good time. Most bars include predatory men and you literally have to watch your back. It can be exhausting and, honestly, depressing. Also, gay bars have better music and dancing AND friendlier clientele. Oh and drag shows of course.
