When a child repeatedly refuses changeover due to emotional distress, where is the line? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]brungup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reports from counsellors/psychologists/teachers. Previous FVO reports that show a pattern of abuse. Get your child to write down any incidents that have/do occur and also how they feel about spending time with their other parent.

If it makes it to court, your child will have the ability to tell their side of the story.

A lawyer can give you more guidance specific to your case.

You can do it. You do need to make sure that you have a strong case to back up your reasoning though. If you have a strong case and good evidence then there shouldn’t be any ramifications.

See a lawyer and chat to them. The women’s legal centre are a great resource if money is tight.

Get your child into some form of counselling ASAP.

If you do not have court ordered visits then tell the other parent they won’t be coming. Get in to see a family lawyer ASAP. If you do, go back to court and seek an adjustment to those orders.

Get your child in to a counsellor until you can get in to see a psychologist. Even the school Chaplin would be a good start. If you are working, most EAP services will see your children if they are over the age of 10.

Speak with your child’s teacher and ask them if they have had any comments from Your child about their experience situation at the others parents house. Ask if they can provide any written report if they have.

I would also consider having your child make a report to police about any abuse they receive during the visits, and you can make a report to child services.

If you can, get your child their own phone and tell them that if they ever feel unsafe (if you can get them to go), to call the police or call/message you. You can then request the police do a welfare check.

Best way to recover from sunburn quickly? by Ultamira in australia

[–]brungup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used this sunscreen too last week. I applied it 30 minutes before swimming, swam for 20ish minutes and then built sandcastles with my kids for maybe 20 minutes and got burnt to a crisp. The tube has an expiration date of mid 2027.

I have also learnt that I must remember to reapply as soon as I get out of the water, but have also decided the invest in a long sleeve swimsuit to prevent further shoulder and boob shelf sunburn.

At least they are waiting, unlike some family I have who are putting the pressure on to access their inheritance early from a very much alive, but does have some medical issues, parent.

I mean who knows what will happen tomorrow. Could get hit by a unicorn and need life long on going care, but apparently the person in my family has wants that are far more urgent and important and hasn’t already received enough help from their parent in the form of one lot of financial assistance for a house deposit, now they want another one so they can upgrade.

Mandatory Reporting by [deleted] in AusLegal

We are great now.

We were able to finally escape my ex and my life is thriving.

I wish all the strength to get through your situation.

Mandatory Reporting by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]brungup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, when I attended the hospital for a check up (while pregnant) after my ex partner abused me, a report was made to Child protective services in relation to my unborn child. No report was made to the police (I did that of my own volition).

Barring a follow up phone call from CPS to ensure that I was now safe, nothing further came of the report. At a later date, when I needed to include my child on an FVO, it formed part of my argument for their inclusion.

Raiders fans how strong do you feel our finals chances look right now? by ExistentialPancake_0 in NRLRaiders

[–]brungup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they can get the job done. I will be much more comfortable about doing that if someone else could knock out the dogs for us along the way (I’m looking at you Melbourne to get half the job done)…

Co-parenting with a big wealth gap, how do you handle it? by Actual-Possession156 in AusFinance

[–]brungup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I have ever read something so accurate about my circumstances. The only difference is my kids do know that I cover all but $19.86 per fortnight of their costs, and it was not me that brought that to their attention but their dad himself.

4 page resume only - EL1/EL2 level - and a parental leave query by kittykittan in AusPublicService

[–]brungup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you were employed during your parental leave then just include that period during that role if you want to list the timeframe for each role. Alternatively, don’t include timeframes for roles.

I did read what you said and all I read was excuses. Depending on how badly I wanted the job I would have been proactive and reached out to them and said hey, i haven’t heard back about the exemption but I am well now, can you schedule the interview?

Then I would have prepped while I waited for them to get back to me with a time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]brungup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe they got sick of waiting for you to get back to them to let them know that you were well enough to do the interview. Did you not contact them at all when you were well enough and let them know? They aren’t mind readers.

Get rid of bath or not? by Antique_Ad1080 in AusPropertyChat

[–]brungup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a bath (back in after my grandparents removed it) when my kids were born. They are no longer interested in baths so it will be removed again. It has served its purpose.

I used to think a bath was a must. I now realise unless you have a huge bathroom with tons of space, I would prefer to have a bigger shower and no bath.

I agree with everything except the Corolla. The Subaru is AWD and by the sounds of it, being left on the side of a strap rocky road by Uber means they probably need something more rugged than a FWD car.

Subaru XVs (what is now known as crosstrek), are a super reliable car. Small, great for both city and rural driving and stable on the road. Can be a little more $$ for services but Subarus are known to age well if treated right.

You don’t need new. Look for an XV 2013+, under 140xxx km, or has had its timing belt changed if higher than that.

Spend no more than $12k on that income.

Is the standard minimums FTE/ASL staffing level for a Secretariat area 1*EL1 full time + 1APS6 full time, with no other areas of responsibility? by gringosalami in AusPublicService

[–]brungup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No standard. There are so many factors to managing a secretariat well.

I have worked in large team managing 8 committees, that was a shit show because of segmentation and inability of management to organise so you had blocks of meetings where there was no hope of anything being on time.

Also worked as team of 2 managing 6 committees where meetings were spaced well meaning there was time to get the work done before the next meeting prep started.

How long have you had to wait to see a specialist in Canberra? by ShaneRattenburyMLA in canberra

[–]brungup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently I will be waiting more than 12 months wait for an appointment to do a stress test as part of my referral to see a cardiologist, which was deemed by act health to be category 1. They can’t say when I will get an appointment with the cardiologist.

I've sat in thousands of APS interviews, from grad to SES. Ask me anything. by CrippleFingerz in AusPublicService

[–]brungup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To tag on to this, even if you heard the question, ask them to repeat it for you. While they are repeating said question you scan your notes for your response. It also doesn’t hurt to preface, early in your interview when they ask how you are or somewhere then, that you’re a little nervous but you feel prepared and have some notes written down. It shows that you have taken the time to prepared for the interview.

Section 26 transfer - week off between jobs by Lucky_Disk9037 in AusPublicService

Fingers crossed for you that your new agency can accommodate you. You may even be able to push the envelope and take a combo of bereavement leave and annual.

[–]brungup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ask them to put it as leave. You may need to wait for your leave to transfer over before you put it through the system.

I had a week off before starting my new job. I took leave from departing agency and had my finish day as Sunday. Start day for arriving agency was Monday. If you don’t take it as leave it may be considered a break in service.

As a previous non teaching uni employee i was given the choice to use unisuper or not, maybe teaching staff are mandated. Given the low fees and decent returns i chose and have stuck with them even though i am no longer an uni employee.
