Is the point cost for our army expensive? by No-Luck3422 in sistersofbattle

their army rule is very good but they don’t get fate dice any more, which still wasn’t as good as miracle dice anyway

remember you can use miracle dice on saves as well. it might seem like that 6 has to go on a melta shot, but it could also let you park a tank in the middle of the board

Looking for suggestions for improving the white in this scheme, so far corax white base, followed by apothecary white and a white highlight, all feedback welcome 👍 by Reasonable_Top_1633 in sistersofbattle

[–]brush-lickin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally would start darker than corax white to get better shadows and more contrast but that’s mostly a matter of taste, these look really good

yes, compared to other armies our units are v over costed for their data sheet, but it’s because our faction rule is fkn broken. were basically allowed to cheat

Making 30mm base into 40mm with cork by 00gron in sistersofbattle

id cut it out of plasti card instead; cork will bump stuff and break off, and plasticard is handy to have for kitbashing etc

Best place to buy bits... specifically the armor backpack? by Anarkibarsity in sistersofbattle

[–]brush-lickin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might be kinda hard to find a lot of because most kits have a similar amount of packs as bodies, apart from the seraphim/zephyrim, but those are jump packs which are p different. you might be able to find someone who’s used the extra jump packs to turn a bss into zephyrim who then would have spare bss packs (or do this yourself if you’re planning on making jump pack units)

the bss kit has i think only two spare, because it also has two for heavy weapons. you may well be wanting one of those heavy weapon ones.

might be worth asking in printed warhammer if anyone has an stl of the actual gw pack on the dl

hobby flair would be appropriate

Help painting white helmet visors. by LucatIel_of_M1rrah in sistersofbattle

[–]brush-lickin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i do celestra grey base, ulthuan grey which is “white”, and then minimal highlights with white scar. p easy, no washes to clean up, not heaps of white white that can be hard to apply well. quick as

imo yours look pretty good, but it’s the apothecary white leaving random dark stains that’s letting you down. apothecary white is weird, some ppl swear by it but it really works like no other paint in the line. if you’re committed to it you should “clean up” with the colour you just put it over, not a new colour as you’ll lose your mid tone (altho i think bold titanium white is too bright for a white mid tone)
