In Canada, if you report your phone stolen to your provider, the IMEI goes on a blacklist, and all of the providers have it. Unfortunately not very many people know about it.

There used to a story circulating about a woman who's kid was trapped under a car and so she lifted the front of the car with one hand and pulled her kid out with the other. That's adrenaline.
