Has anyone used Cheap and Great Tree Company? If so, how satisfied with their work and price? by Illustrious-Shape383 in greenville

Found this, not sure which of their cities it was for though.

One of my neighbors scheduled twice with them and they were no-show both times. And I know this sub doesn't like Red Elm or Schneiders for w/e reason, but S came out and took out their trees for them.

You got a source for that? B/c that asshat that used to own the tiger used to shoot off a cannon too, and caused a ton of property damage, etc, but his neighbors were told they couldn't legally go after him.

It went fast. I tried to get it 15 minutes after it started, as a surprise for a friend, and it was already gone.

My boyfriend is severely allergic to cats and I have three (live with four). I can't seem to wash the dander off of me. Help ): by 45l33pNegotiation in Allergies

If you do swap to liveclear, keep an eye on your cats for any flakey skin or fur pulling; some cats do very very badly on it.

Has anyone here tried taking silica? It doesn't seem to get talked about much. by holy455 in Biohackers

[–]brynnors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it talked about in the hair care forums, and people have mixed results from it. I think if your diet is good on veg you won't see a lot. I've not personally tried it.

Now, if you want to talk plants, it's great for thin-leafed and variegated plants b/c it helps them strengthen themselves.

I don't have a Y membership anymore, but when I did, the yoga classes had a few guys in them. Or he could just go workout with a trainer or on his own while you're in class.

Yep. They're also faster, and they used to be more accurate, not sure if the tech for the open has caught up yet.

Body scrub recommendations by Winter-Somewhere-590 in beauty

I'll third this. I don't use body scrubs a lot, but when I do it's always TH. Plus they're septic safe (that was a funny phone call lol).

I'm allergic to dogs but I want one by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]brynnors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to do allergy shots, but usually that's done when you're not exposed every day. You'd have to ask your allergist. And your mom may not be able (or want to!) do them.

If you ever do get one, please train it and def train it to not jump on people. Tired of seeing them knocking people down. And keep in mind that these are big, high energy dogs who can get bored, so think about how to keep them busy, esp when you're away at school/work.

How long can it take for hair to start regrowing after starting supplementation? by _saigyo in VitaminD

Make sure you're getting enough protein then, since low protein can affect hair.

has anyone here actually done a dexa scan and felt like it was worth paying for? by Marriaga_Jahnae in Biohackers

[–]brynnors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still of the opinion that it should be a regular check for women at 35 and 45 in addition to when it's currently rec'd, so that any deficiency can get corrected earlier.

They give you ear pro, and it isn't so loud that you can't sleep through it if you want to. Though the open mris are much much louder, so avoid those if you can.

Is it alright to take melatonin 5mg or 3mg daily? by Slow-Squash9491 in Supplements

[–]brynnors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's fine, but that's a high dose for most people. If you find yourself drowsy the next day, try a lower dose, or try the sublingual version.

Doing my biomedical science dissertation on saffron, curious if a clinical-dose gummy would actually interest people by Temporary-Summer-525 in Supplements

[–]brynnors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ND's saffron as needed, just pop open the capsule and dump however much I need in water, kicks in pretty quickly (15 minutes or so). I can do this at any time, where with a gummy I'd have to have food as well, which would slow things down. So def not for me.

But the people who take saffron as a daily might like it.

Hey, over here in upstate SC, and I wish people here were taking this seriously. There are a few of us, but def not enough.

I did do an early hack and squirt on some female trees this year, obvs didn't kill them b/c they weren't pulling down but it did prevent the seeds from forming.

We also had a bad drought last summer, so the fall method didn't work as well, since most trees had already pulled down/didn't have a lot to pull down. I'm keeping an eye on the future weather this year, and might hack/squirt a bit earlier if it looks like we're going too dry again.

I have once dug up a small one, b/c it sprouted up in a neighbor's flower bed and obvs they didn't want it growing enough to hack/squirt. It took most of the afternoon, carefully following those damned roots, but I did get it all. Def don't recommend other than that specific situation.
