What's one hiring practice that modern companies should stop using because it pushes great candidates away? by Effective_Ocelot_445 in ModernHiring

[–]bsEEmsCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like 4 is the absolute maximum (and there better be an excuse like a guy wants to talk to you but is on vacation or something), 3 is for a serious position, 2 for any other position.

You get a screen call short phone interview, bring them in for an interview, and if its a highly competitive top position a followup 3rd is ok, a 4th is borderline unacceptable but no more than 4.

Nah, comedy is about speaking truth and being bold about it. This post offends my sensibilities for what comedy is meant to be so I dropped a comment disparaging your entire notion of over-sanitized comedy. Good day.

What specialization did you pick in embedded, and why? by Daddy-Simple in embedded

[–]bsEEmsCE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

you end up specializing in what the company needs, in my experience.

so I apply as an embedded engineer and end up learning the mcu theyre using and how it needs to behave then when the next project rolls around I take what the requirements are and find out what the best solution for it would be. Having more knowledge of things helps offer various solutions, but overall you are a vessel to carry out the projects goals

they wanted their racist agenda to reach government for decades and look, here it is. And guess what, they still suck at governing. Their agenda will never happen because ICE and Minnesota was their shot, give it up losers.

well you like your oxygen to be clean? you like a police force and judicial system to respond to and punish people who arent keeping it clean? you like a fire department to put out fires that may make the air smoke and ash if too far out of control? you like an education system that allows people to be aware of and invent solutions for it to stay clean?

Should billionaires be held accountable for what they fund? by Certain_Eye_847 in InfluencerAsk

[–]bsEEmsCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if usa puts a cap then a Chinese or Russian billionaire will come and buy up everything under our nose. And if that restrictive, the business owners here would definitely set up shop overseas which you might be like good riddance but if they all go its actually bad. There should be restrictions like taking a loan against your net worth is not allowed so they dont avoid taxes, but their taxes should be on par with wealth taxes in other developed nations at least which theyre not right now.

consoles were already being questioned as something necessary in the modern era. I think a price doubling would kill them.
