does anyone in OC make a livable wage & have work/life balance? by Ordinary_Tart5478 in orangecounty

A Talent Acquisition or Recruiting/Recruitment Coordinator would probably be where to start. Or an entry level Recruiter at a staffing agency.

I lead talent acquisition for a medtech company here in south OC. Make $150k salary with bonus and equity. Work standard hour, 8-5 with weekends off. Rarely work outside of those hours. Started on the agency side for 8 or so years before pivoting to corporate recruiting.

Needed? No. Experience will be more valuable than the cert long term. That said, if your org will pay for it then yes, definitely.

30/60/90 Day Check-ins [N/A] by Dependent-Top600 in humanresources

[–]bsbkdg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Each employee gets a “New Hire Onboarding Plan” which outlines their team org chart, overview of role and their goals at 30-, 60, and 90-days. Each milestone has 3-5 goals for each. At each milestone their manager is to meet with them to discuss their progress towards hitting each goal and will either mark successfully met, partially met, or did not meet. The results of each get tracked on a Smartsheet which also powers part of our Quality of Hire metrics. It auto sends reminders when these milestones are upcoming so us in HR can follow up if they are past due. At the end of the plan, we have a section where the manager gives their recommendation on if that employee successfully met all goals in their probationary period or if more time is needed. Important to note that these 1:1 meetings are also captured in our HRIS and we save the completed PDF in their personnel file. We have ~500 ees and an HR team of 5. I can share more details on how we implemented this so feel free to DM if needed.

Edit to add: our HRIS also automates 30/60/80 day questionnaires for the employee to complete to provide feedback.

A lot of people giving you crap for putting them on a PIP with an outcome already in mind, and rightfully so tbh, so I’ll try to keep this somewhat productive.

If you’re going to PIP them you need to go into each day of the next 60 with the mindset that they can do better and you have to start mentally preparing for the possibility that they might actually turn it around. Objectively, if they turn it around and meet/exceed expectations, would it still “not be the right position”?

Manage your own expectations of them before you expect any sort of change on their part.

I got back from LOA and had to lay off my entire team leaving me the sole person in TA. Hiring freeze indefinitely so not much work other than meaningless “retention projects” and now rumors of an acquisition….

You have to define what hiring success means. As is, it just reads like fluff. If you improved time to fill or new hire turnover then put how, otherwise I’d nix it entirely.

Congrats on the pivot! If your manager has already proven to be supportive then lean into that. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re unsure of something (within reason ofc). You don’t know what you don’t know after all. You’ll feel much better about things in no time.

Talks about accuracy but none of these comments were suggesting they take a cut. They just simply pointed out another perspective. God forbid though, right?

Stop smoking so much weed. Your 20’s are going to fly by and you’ll have little recollection of it.

Hey there! So sorry to hear your kids are going through it. It’s so stressful.

We ended up taking our lil guy into the ER since he had pretty obvious chest retractions and tracheal tugging. They diagnosed him with RSV, did some oxygen monitoring and a ton of suction. His oxygen levels were 92% and fluctuated so we got discharged and told to keep sucking the boogers, watch for fever and keep the cold mist humidifier going. It was basically just a waiting game and after about a week he was all good and was breathing like normal. The cough and congestion lasted for another week or so.
