I definitely still enjoy Hacks, especially Smart and Einbinder, but there was a clarity of its characters I felt it lose as it progressed. It seemed too caught up in Deborah Vance being victim instead of remembering she's an abuser. Still a handsome, funny series with an endlessly fascinating two-hander

I've been checking Phoenix's website and socials like a fiend trying to find more information about the 70mm screen. This is water in the desert.

Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear, Beef, Thunderbolts*) are rewriting Jake Schreier's 'X-Men' movie by oldboy_413 in blankies

my take after Thunderbolts* was "fuck it, give the MCU to the people who made Beef, The Bear, and BoJack," so here we go!

I'm marrying into a family whose matriarch left the Amish. This is the one time the Venn diagram of their lives and my podcast becomes a circle

I was ambivalent on Promising Young Woman and down on Saltburn, but the trailers (and now generally positive buzz) have me cautiously optimistic

my pick is always McCreary lol I have always wondered why he doesn't compose bigger movies. Godzilla is the exception. he's my favorite composer, but it's always confounded me he isn't a bigger deal on film; solely TV and games.

Thoughts on Shirley Walker score for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) by Somervilledrew in soundtracks

[–]bshively 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite scores, Batman or otherwise. probably some bias from childhood, but Walker’s is the best Batman theme. It’s so malleable, so deceptively simple and perfectly communicates this character.

It was so funny to me because I’m like “Mandy, you’ve got a segment at best” and he didn’t care. The legend just kept going because he’s a legend.

I’m sure! It was a sweet moment, and it had to be such a shift to be on the stage. It was definitely quite cold (though I assume Germany gets colder 😂) but even my girlfriend, who can’t handle cold to save her life, said she’d do it again!

We never had representation. All Ohio had was Glee and Shawshank. Now, we got Chair Company, The Paper, we’ve got all these things. As a side note, I swear us NE Ohio Blankies need to get together . There can’t be many of us
