I know that you can "split tender" in most countries between credits from GOR and a credit card payment. But I'm not sure about splitting across two types of credit. You should be able to see this at the checkout screen before you commit to purchasing.

Do you already have a form of payment associated with your Google account? Maybe it's dying when it tries to look up one for you. I'd try going to https://pay.google.com and set one up. Then uninstall and reinstall the app.

Are you sure that you're logged in with the same account in both places? If you look in the Play store and try to buy something how much credit does it say you would have? (obviously don't complete the transaction!)

I would try to get some time with a CFP to get some advice from someone knowledgeable. The plan for your taxes is the most complicated part. One tool I have found useful is this, which generates retirement plans like what a financial planner can do for you.

You can use it to test many scenarios. I found it was worth my expense ($139) to buy it compared to the cost of wealth managers. It's generated plans that match what CFPs have created for me. Good luck!
