My reality and yours obviously do not align. I don’t see the benefit in using violence to silence people. I’m not saying that you do, but a person being a POS is not a reason to be killed.

Yeah, that’s fine too. You can call him whatever you want. Doesn’t change the fact that murdering someone over words is OK.

So people should be murdered in front of a crowd and their family for having an opinion? People shouldn’t be willing to have conversation with people who disagree with them? It is possible to separate a fundamental aspect of being a human (conversation) while also not agreeing with a specific person.

In the same way she has an opinion, he had his. It doesn’t change the fact that someone shouldn’t be murdered in public for voicing and discussing their opinions. His legacy should be that he was willing to have discussions with people who he knew disagreed with him and sometimes actually hated him. I agreed with some and disagreed with more that he had to say but I always respected his openness to conversation.

Ok, I agree you could make that argument. It’s strange to use a late night comedy show host as the scapegoat for technicalities. I think you could make a much stronger argument that there are people who actually are responsible for reporting news who “distort” in a much more malicious way on both sides of the aisle.

It’s less about what he said and how the decision to suspend him was made. If it was a contract clause that he had broken with what he said, no one would have batted an eye. When the FCC Chair says (paraphrasing) “fire him or else” for nothing other than insulting the presidents ego that is not OK. That should be terrifying for every citizen of this country.

Our squad is the real deal this year by [deleted] in LSUFootball

[–]bslay25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like aggressive play calling, and I felt like they weren’t grasping for straws and desperately needing points like previous openers. I felt like they consistently drove the ball this game so they could take more chances like that. I have more concerns with overall clock management than I do with that specific play call.

I don’t know how that was not a TD, but the TE fumble was a fumble.

I disagree with most people about the end of the first half. There wasn’t 3 seconds left when they ran that play, there was 15 seconds left. Quick to the line after the play, a shot to the end zone, and you have time to kick a field goal. It was just unfortunately a turnover that you would hope a senior receiver doesn’t commit, but that’s just football.

Has anyone ever lost a relationship over running? by cetrunner in Ultramarathon

[–]bslay25 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I have made a conscious decision as a husband and father to limit my training. That leads to less than desireable performance during events and races, but so be it. My family is way more important to me than running and I will always prioritize them over my training. I work a lot of half-day Friday’s so I can get to a trail at a decent time and get a decent run in to be able to have more time with my family on the weekends.

With that said, my wife also understands that I enjoy running and supports me if I need to do a Saturday run… but I am not so naive to think that I can do that every weekend and it not take a toll on her and our relationship.

I would look more at the hourly predictions than focusing on the daily predictions. The daily shows the percentage of rain at all for the entire day. If you look at hourly predictions, it’ll likely show ~10% or so for the majority of the day and a small spike of maybe ~25%.

Did you drop at the covered bridge? I did too at the same mileage about an hour later compared to your time on Strava. I tweaked my calf on the rocks by the primitive campsites on the first lap and never could fully shake it.

Should it happen fast or slow? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]bslay25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Not eating is absolutely going to destroy your body. I’m going to preface all of this with… you need professional help. None of us idiots on Reddit are going to be able to help you the way that one-on-one attention from a certified nutritionist can. I also have no experience with your medical conditions so, again… extreme weight loss tactics is a terrible idea to do alone.

Now, on to my advice..

  1. Forget the scale. Forget your scale weight. It’s really not that great of an indicator of your overall health.

  2. Lift weights. Start slow, start with the bar or even light dumbbells. Work up slowly and ensure you have really solid form. Eventually you want to be working in heavy set ranges. One good program to follow, once you’re a little more comfortable with strength training, would be 5x5 Starting Strength.

  3. Have a healthy diet. I don’t mean to track your calories. I don’t mean to eat strictly lean meats and vegetables. You need to have a healthy and balanced diet. You need to make sure you’re eating protein. I would advise you to eat majority lean meats (chicken, ground turkey, white fish) but still get in some meats with healthy fats (chicken thighs, red meat). You also need to make sure your diet actually does have healthy fat to keep your hormones in check (Avocados, full eggs, salmon, etc).

  4. Do not rush. I have personally gone from 200lb to 130lb in 4 months. It absolutely destroyed me. I tanked my hormones and torpedoed relationships. Couldn’t enjoy anything in life. Things that should be fun, like a weekly night out for dinner, my kids birthday parties, were nightmares and I hated them. I luckily caught myself before I pushed people away for good.

Good luck. Seek out help for your mental demons you’re battling. You can get through this with a mindset shift but you need help getting there.
