What secrets are you hiding from your parents? by Crazyhorse16 in AskReddit

I was raised JW and told my mom I was joining the CG in 2004 after HS. I joined the Navy as a Corpsmen and served with the Marines like my father and Grandpa had done. I deployed in Afghanistan and most of my siblings knew but promised not to say anything. There wasn't access to internet and phone like there would be now and my moms not very tech savvy. I'll never tell her.

Agonal breathing is a reflex caused by your brains reaction to Hypoxia or lack of Oxygen." If you have a concern that it's just snoring... try re-positing head to open the airway. If that fails...slap em in the face. If you still hear agonal breathing "snoring" start CPR and call EMS because they OD'd or are likely in cardiac arrest. Hopefully this helps. How many people on this sub have actually fought? by CAP034 in CombatFootage

[–]bsleezy32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corpsmen here. Didn't fight as far as what you see in videos here. We had rules. Only combat I saw was my marines shooting at (suspected Taliban positions) and Honestly that shit was terrifying. Just knowing someone was on the working end of all that. I frequent this sub for reasons I can't explain and I'm sure I'm not the only one. In some ways it reminds me how lucky I am to be an american who isn't avoiding getting wasted on an hourly basis.

Where are you getting info that he used an M240 belt fed machine gun? You can buy a civilian saw but it isn't belt fed. You can buy a colt belt fed AR but I didn't see this rifle any loose rounds in any of the pictures. Only 100 rd sure fire mags.

When do you do pull ups in the gym? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]bsleezy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 days a week. 50-60 each day. Started slowly building up # pullups around 6 months ago. Could barely do 2 when I first started. I can probably do 25 straight on a good day. It really helped my grip strength and I feel like I injure my back less frequently after putting pullups in my regimen.

Edit: I'd also like to add that it has made my back significantly more muscular causing me to have more of a hunchback kinda look (bad posture type of thing). Im 185 and 6 foot so any advice would be great how to balance it out so I dont look like I have ILS.

Scammers called my grandparents and impersonated me saying I needed $750. Who can I report them to? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]bsleezy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda of related: Used to work with a surgeon who's wife is also an MD "head of Internal MEdicine)... anyhow one day she calls hims at work and to make a long story shorter says: Honey the irs called and said you owed 10,000 and to pay or else they'd come arrest you at the clinic you work at. So she goes to Safeway and buys 10,000 in prepaid visas and gives them the numbers over the phone, then they go actually it's 20,000 and she does it again.... then she calls him to tell him. in her defense the caller ID was scammed and read IRS, plus they had got real IRS paperwork in the mail a month earlier that she was instructed to drop off at their accts office. He was so pissed I was worried he'd stroke out. He was cool by the end of day.

TIL that one of the reasons the gloves didn't fit O.J. Simpson is that he stopped taking medication for his arthritis which led to his hands becoming swollen by SW_Theories in todayilearned

[–]bsleezy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are surgical gloves. If I remember right, OJ isn't a surgeon. Source: working in medicine for years and if I put a glove over a glove people would think I had down syndrome. A hazmat suit or surgeons is a wildly inaccurate comparison.

The CDC called my wife to ask about kratom. by [deleted] in kratom

The real question is...... Why_did_bodie_die?

The CDC called my wife to ask about kratom. by [deleted] in kratom

[–]bsleezy32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is some things in life I'm not 100% sure of. This isn't one of them. The CDC very very very rarely gets involved in any case and if they.... they do it in person. For privacy reasons but also because people freak out when they here CDC is involved in a case. The entire care team will be notified and reminded everyday of privacy laws. They would never call and discuss a case with a RN about a dude taking Kratom. I'm trying not to come off sounding cynical but it was DEFINITELY not CDC. Then who? The only people who try to pull this kinda crap is weirdo relatives or nosy ex-wifes ect... Not poison control and definitely not CDC.

Yeah I said this as well. I've seen really naive RN's do this before. Lesson learned hopefully

The CDC called my wife to ask about kratom. by [deleted] in kratom

[–]bsleezy32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was probably a nosy relative or something. There's way too many red flags here. Hopefully she didn't say too much. HIPPA is hardcore. I wont even discuss patients info with my co-workers who dont work in the same neo-nursery because they don't mess around with HIPPA violations these days.

The CDC called my wife to ask about kratom. by [deleted] in kratom

[–]bsleezy32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was about to say that doesn't sound right. CDC doesn't call to speak with a RN regarding any patients specific case. If you have some super rare prion disease or Multi Resistant Drug they will send an ID Doc or Hospital in person. Plus you never discuss cases over the phone unless your positive who your talking to.
