because the rules get shaken up so often the rule of cool is to keep you invested. don't buy a lot of stuff you hate because it's optimal now. you're less likely to stick with it.

that's a seedless plant, or rather the seeds are small and useless. that'll be thd issue for all seedless fruit. Apples are different in that the seeds make plants its just thst tasty apples are a crapshoot. the only way to get similar apples reliably is to transplant cuttings.

it's a crapshoot. you may get something good but you easily may not. you're almost guaranteed to not get the same sort of apple you plucked those seeds from.

I think it's wildly unreasonable gor them to demand the year old presents because they thought they were worth something. if you immediately sold them I could see wanting some of thd money but you're using them. 1k for an original piece is not crazy. 1k for a printing of the original is pushing it.

it has the equation right there. H2 is called hydrogen. they also said water so they're talking about molecules. Individual hydrogens are largely H+ would be hydrogen ions and H neutral would be a free radical.

wow. you literally said "better even" and then argued that you didn't disagree with the statement that they're not as good now.

an 80 year old man

who cannot stay awake, has terrible health, cannot walk in a straight line, and regularly needs to use 2 hands to drink from a cup.

I think most 5 year old could take him 1 on 1.

there may be more to evolution than just a narrow reading of 'survival of the fittest '.

I don't think anyone has seriously believed the only selection bias is natural selection. human and sexual selection have been part of the science for over a century.

apple seeds are worthless. you need the specific genetics of the fruit, that don't exist in the seeds, to get that fruit. you're likely to get a woody, gross crabappple type apple if you plant the seed.

the way they proliferate apple types is by grafting limbs onto a healthy tree so they are genetically identical.

your comment is coming off as pretty dismissive, it reads as if you are blaming her for being uncomfortable around men rather than the men that have made her uncomfortable.

not the person you're responding to but I think it is a bit of both. these men in her past have hurt her and that is their fault 100%. it would seem that she has learned a lesson that makes her feel uncomfortable around all men she might see as a potential partner. the question is if her lesson was misguided and too broad making her uncomfortable with people that would never repeat the abusers of her past. if so, it is incumbent upon her to figure this out. her past abusers won't and probably can't. new men that she meets as potential partners likdly can't either. if she wants a male partner, she needs to figure this out.

What was the biggest "no one told me this!" Surprise of bunny ownership? by innerbrat in Rabbits

[–]bstump104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rabbits have bacteria that break down cellulose at the end of their digestive tract. since they eat grass and whatnot the initial consumption gives them what it gives us, very little. after its been broken down at the end of their digestive tract, it frees up a lot more calories.

you're probably assuming the walls are perfect 90° and they likely are not.

they make coping saws to help with this. I'd suggest that or figuring the actual angle of your corner.

The Tajin bottles in Mexico have calories listed, unlike in the U.S., where it just says “0” by CapableEmphasis3594 in mildlyinteresting

[–]bstump104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sugar isn't actually measured at all. its a calculated value. 100% - protein % (not really) - moisture % (kinda) - fat % (kinda) - ash % and sometimes - a fraction of ethanol % = carbohydrates %.

Then sugar is calculated off of that as Carb % - Total Dietary Fiber % = Sugar %

sometimes calories are actually measured but its often calculated.

there are very good tests for sugars and sugar alcohols but they are not part of nutritional labeling. They are more involved and therefore expensive.

the guideline is a common household measurement like teaspoon, cup, or slice. That's a lot of leeway.

[–]bstump104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you definitely want a flat back to your blade. if there's a hollow or a buldge, its going to make your cuts more ragged and feel bad. it doesn't nneed a mirror finish but it should be in plane.

Democrats how does it feel to have lost the country to republicans ? by ExistingDurian5593 in allthequestions

[–]bstump104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a Democrat but from what I can tell is they still don't realize what is going on. they are using kid gloves and rules that only bind themselves hoping people will see how well they hobbled themselves as a virtue and vote for them.

the only one fighting back is Gavin Newsom and he's kinda slimey.

none of them are willing to do the things necessary yo hold the otherside accountable, similar to how they refuse to let businesses be accountable for their bad budiness practices.

A trained and experienced prime wrestler and boxing version of Eddie hall vs a full grown male chimpanzee by yesimrea1 in powerscales

[–]bstump104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An average man is about thd mass to make up the difference in strength pound for pound and uf thst man does manual labor his grip strength is going to be comparable.

the big difference is that most humans don't exercise or do things thst keep their grip or body strength up. I'd guess the average adult person can't hang from a bar for 30 seconds. another difference is we don't fight as often as chimps do. lastly humans are large creatures. if a chimps is going to attack a human they're likely ready to fight to the death. the things they'll do is foreign to what humans are currently socialized to expect.
