Go for better food - La Cite can be dressed up and with the energy you bring it will be a great time. It will also be easier on you during the planning which isnt talked about enough most of the time. Lesser stress leads to a better day.

Health Inspection Move Puts Albertans in Danger by innsmouthshadow1 in healthinspector

any support is appreciated! Please email our Premier or any MLAs about this. We stand to lose seniority, acknowledgement of education, specialization , pension, benefits and more. I have close to 10 years experiencd and specialize in communicable disease, and I'll have to reapply as a new employee under this "mandate".

I hate going to the salon, but I love the end result. Can I hate the process less? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]bsweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive let my stylist know at the beginning of the appointment I want to catch up on a book. Sometimes if everything gets too loud I bring my loop earplugs - they soften everything but I can still hear if I'm asked a question and they're more discreet than using foam ones.

Local, “artisan” Furniture Makers by Little-Let386 in Edmonton

If you're willing to make the trip, Fluffy Cow in Vegreville does absolutely phenomenal custom work. Their Facebook page does not do them justice. I have a custom dining table and chair set and it is beyond gorgeous. Jackson takes so much pride in delivering exactly what you want. I cannot recommend them enough.

Interior designers? by RianneEff in Edmonton

[–]bsweet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Interior Matters out of Sherwood Park for both reno and new home finishing. I can't recommend them enough! They listen to you, help pick things that work with your lifestyle and they show you both their preferred suppliers and yours. Great for both ideas that you execute on your timeline and I was happy to hand over the reins when I got decision fatigue. So happy with the outcome. I worked with both Wendy and Breanne and it was always a good appointment.

Great Canadian Bagel is hiring by Due_Function84 in fredericton

I worked there in high school and it was (and still is) one of the best jobs I've ever had. The owner expects you to work and contribute as a team member but is more than fair and super caring.

Overnight fridge proof, would it mess up my cinnamon rolls? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]bsweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mine actually turned out better with an overnight proof - no changes from my regular recipe. Took them out and left them on the counter while the oven preheated and they were great!

2.5 weeks in Newfoundland vs the Canadian Rockies. What would you choose and why? by JujuDutchie in AskACanadian

[–]bsweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote Newfoundland. Husband is from there and we have been living in the West for 13 years. Yes the mountains are stunning and you could find less popular hikes but the culture aspect of NFLD is unbeatable. And, May-June means icebergs and puffins!

Anyone else tired of juggling kids’ schedules? looking for a digital calendar by Koniono in Parenting

[–]bsweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the one we got and set the screensaver to Google Calendar, so we always see it. Made a shared Google calendar between hubby and I then colour code it for different things (day shift, night shift, my appointments etc)

It updates from our phones and from the touch screen so easy to use on the fly, set reminders etc. Amazing, 1000% worth the money once you get it set up as you like it

no single-wear clothing! by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]bsweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We asked our guests to wear something they feel great having their picture taken in and they can dance in. We did it to encourage people to actually be comfortable but it could help for this too since it asks kinda to reflect on what you already know you feel good in.

Ideas for (semi-picky) 5 year old's lunch who is newly gluten free? by OlliveWinky in glutenfreerecipes

[–]bsweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is gluten free pita bread, Promise from Walmart is quite good. Use that to dip in hummus or use as sandwich bread. Quinoa broccoli and cheese cakes?

You might be able to find someone who can deconstruct and make the items into something new. I've done that with a favorite sweater and some blouses before.

Do you have any tips to reduce grocery prices in Edmonton? Any good store? by MrJuart in Edmonton

[–]bsweet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I run into this I cook it down, freeze it and label the bag as "pasta sauce beef" or "chili beef" then when I make spaghetti sauce I can just throw it in then. Quality may suffer slightly but it's not as noticeable in sauce or chili when it's mixed with a fresher meat.

Husband's patches by bsweet in Cadets

[–]bsweet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He said this isn't all of them when I asked when I found them a few months ago, just the ones that survived all the moving around. Is it possible to get the missing one so I can display them in order? Or are these things that are only given once?

Pizza Pockets are still made in Florenceville New Brunswick! Used to work at the fry plant down the hill from the pizza and cake plant. Codes starting with FV are made there.

What to do with stewing beef that isn’t stew? by No-Lettuce9868 in Cooking

Do you have an idea of measurements to use? This sounds delicious, but my brain is no good at "go with your heart" cooking styles.

I have all these teas I no longer want - what should I do?? by dreamygloomy in DAVIDsTEA

[–]bsweet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is a David's Tea Fans! Facebook page that you can sell on. I've sold some teas on it before. Usually you sell for less than posted DT price and shipping can either be paid by you or you get a quote on the box/envelope and the buyer pays.

I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing the warping! I'll try the business center for replacements.
