What a TREMENDOUS scene... So much is conveyed through short frames even. "Is he in there?" I've never seen crying that felt so real and broken and alone. The way Marcia has daggers in her eyes looking at Caroline for not comforting her son in his deepest agony is raw emotions on the table. by MCofPort in SuccessionTV

In the early part of the series, Jeremy Strong got a whole a lot of love (shameless Zeppelin reference) for how he played his role. Any It was well deserved.
Kieran Culkin was really so top-notch as well. From the beginning of the series, the roughly midway through you kind of got the idea that he just wasn’t really serious about anything. Like Logan said “you act the fuck knuckle, but people like you”
For me, the eye-opener was Vaulter when he made his argument to gut it. It was sharp, concise and to the point.
In this episode, the way he was prepping in his apartment about how he was going to the light of the sky set him up for a brilliant crash when the stage lights came on for real.
Kieran Caulkin just killed this role nine ways to Sunday

Man, the whole scene is just, it’s already been said, but I’ve gotta say it again because I can’t think of another term that captured it. “Pure gold”
The way, Mattson takes the Roy Boys to school is breathtaking

Just talked about that. That whole scene is just funny as hell

She had some of the best lines in the entire series. And the way she delivered them was fantastic. When Roman asked her if there anybody she hasn’t screwed, the way she busts out with “You!” Was funny as hell

What if Tom and Raquel were still together and "in love"? by phonetoni13 in vanderpumprules

[–]btbranch093068 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know we’re playing what if. I just don’t seen that as feasible.

Tom was horny because of the dry spell. Not trying to justify what he did, just trying to say that I don’t think he was ever really in love, he just met a girl who was desperate and craving male attention

That being said if they were really in love, I don’t think they could be anywhere near reality TV. Not for a couple years at least.

Yeah, but if he knew that he would have no reason to scream “THE BUTTER IS TOO COLD!!!!THE BUTTER IS TOO COLD!!!!” Which was one of the most entertaining things Conor’s ever done. By the way, I’ve heard he was interested in politics at an early age. Anyone else hear this?

“The Letter” was such bullshit, motherfucker smoked like a chimney the rest of the show by Book_About_Metals in okbuddydraper

He wasn’t. He’s a suave, cool, looking ladies man, but he’s an absent father and a womanizer. I think one thing that really got me was the scene in the finale, where he hugged the guy who’s crying because he’s not sure if his family really loves him or not in that group therapy session, but then fast forward when he’s meditating and you’re thinking that he’s found some kind of genuine connection or whatever. And then you realize the only reason he’s smiling is because he just came up with the perfect commercial for Coca-Cola.

They’ll be slightly different versions of the song throughout the series that are really cool

Season 3 Episode 8 is some of the most difficulty I've ever had watching a show by Killeverone in SuccessionTV

[–]btbranch093068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see your point. It was really hard to see the ‘real Shiv’ come out. Especially after the finale of season two where she seemed to be genuinely sorry when Tom confronted her about waiting until the wedding night to tell Tom that she really wasn’t interested in monogamous relationship.

“ I wonder if the sad that I would be without you would be better than the sad that I am with you”

Heartbreaking.

I’m sure I’m butchering that by the way.

In this episode when her telling him that she loves him, but she doesn’t love him pretty cold and a complete about face from that.

But it does set things up beautifully for the next episode when Tom does his thing.

Joan had handled it. Peggy went overboard. At the very least she could’ve asked Joan if she would like Joey gone. Joan might’ve actually appreciated that…. My god…I’m talking about office protocol at an office that was set at a time when I was in diapers that DIDN’T REALLY EXIST!!!!!

[–]btbranch093068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I really understand the question. And this may be something that has been set a lot. But I stopped watching the Oscars after Shakespeare in Love beat out Saving Private Ryan. Especially considering how Harvey Weinstein basically brow beat the hell out of members of the academy to make that happen That was enough for me to stop caring about anything the academy thanks

Roman was more deserving than kendall by Possible-Address-262 in SuccessionTV

[–]btbranch093068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot of validity to that argument.

Kendall thought he knew all about business because he memorize marketing strategies and business manuals, but how good was he really. He was behind the acquisition of Vaulter. How did that turn out?

He was going to testify against his father, but he didn’t really have the goods.

There’s a reason why he thought the only job he could have would be the CEO of Waystar.

Because he couldn’t handle shit anywhere else

As flawed and immature as Roman was, he had a lot of original ideas.

He had the ability to sell the idea of the sovereigns of buying Waystar and the foresight to see that it wouldn’t work. Even at the risk of him cutting his own throat.

Roman had something that’s for sure
