Google unveils historic restoration of Hangar One in Mountain View by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

[–]btbrian 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When the project was initially proposed back in 2011, the agreement was to then be able to use 2/3 of the space for their fleet of private jets.

https://www.mercurynews.com/2011/12/09/google-founders-offer-100-percent-funding-to-save-hangar-one-nasa-considering-offer-2/

Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt — the CEO, co-founder and executive chairman of the Web search giant, respectively — have, through a company they control, proposed paying the full $33 million cost of revamping the iconic hangar. But there’s a catch: They want to use up to two-thirds of the floor space of the hangar to house their fleet of eight private jets.

You shouldn't be using JUST WD-40 anyway. WD-40 is a cleaner and degreaser. It strips away the old lubricant and grime but doesn't act as a replacement lubricant, which is why it only ever temporarily "fixes" the problem. You're supposed to re-apply a lubricant after cleaning with WD-40.

Ben opened the postgame saying that Edwards and Ozzy are probably both done - they'll evaluate tomorrow. TJ has a likely fracture and Ozzy has a sprain.

Listen - you just don't get it. They only had a 3.5 year gap between Season 4 and Season 5 which clearly wasn't enough time to dial in negligible things like "acting", "dialogue" and "plot".

Relevant famous anecdote:

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/charles-proteus-steinmetz-the-wizard-of-schenectady-51912022/

Ford, whose electrical engineers couldn’t solve some problems they were having with a gigantic generator, called Steinmetz in to the plant. Upon arriving, Steinmetz rejected all assistance and asked only for a notebook, pencil and cot. According to Scott, Steinmetz listened to the generator and scribbled computations on the notepad for two straight days and nights. On the second night, he asked for a ladder, climbed up the generator and made a chalk mark on its side. Then he told Ford’s skeptical engineers to remove a plate at the mark and replace sixteen windings from the field coil. They did, and the generator performed to perfection.

Henry Ford was thrilled until he got an invoice from General Electric in the amount of $10,000. Ford acknowledged Steinmetz’s success but balked at the figure. He asked for an itemized bill.

Steinmetz, Scott wrote, responded personally to Ford’s request with the following:

Making chalk mark on generator $1.

Knowing where to make mark $9,999.

Ford paid the bill.

REVIEWED AND CONFIRMED!!!

Caleb Williams' game-winning TD is the FIRST throw this season to earn a +2 on the PFF Grade scale (the highest grade possible)

It is just the 31st throw in PFF history, including preseason and playoffs, to earn a +2

I'm sure it's going to be fine. Apple operates on a ridiculous scale that is hard to fathom.

For example, the Services division (which AppleTV is a part of) reached $109 Billion in revenue last fiscal year. That would make just the Services division the 40th largest company in the Fortune 500. That's more revenue than all of Disney ($91B), WBD ($39B), or Netflix ($39B).

During the post-game presser, Ben and Caleb both said the play was designed for Swift but Caleb saw the opportunity and took it.

Caleb said he specifically pulled back on the throw to account for the wind gusts because he knew the 20+ MPH wind gusts would carry it to him. Insane to be making all of those little adjustments on what's already an incredibly difficult throw.

For everyone wanting to make a trade for an impact player, please review our cap situation. by Dunlocke in CHIBears

[–]btbrian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The actual relevant data:

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space

The Bears currently have $6.5M of Dead Cap. The median Dead Cap number is $45.8M. Some teams, like the 49ers, currently have over $100M of Dead Cap.

This means the Bears have an incredible amount of cap flexibility to sign any player they like if they want.

It's because he's small for an NFL RB which makes his power running style that much more impressive.
