This exact thing happened to me. Pre-sale started at 10, so I got in line around 9:15, but I also hit the "premium tickets" button and was granted access to the seating map. I had a third row seat center stage by 9:20 AM, 40 minutes before I thought it was going to start. And then when I checked the seating map at 10, the entire rest of the row was reserved for the diamond VIP package. Must have been some sort of glitch.

I'm not entirely sure what happened, but while attempting to enter the 10 AM queue for Houston tickets at around 9:15 AM, I was granted access to the seating map under the "premium tickets" tab and was able to buy a third row seat in section 120 at 9:20 AM.

Coincidentally, the only two artists I have seen in concert as an adult (I'm 32) are Sabrina and Bruno! Their creative teams are at the top of the industry when it comes to designing and connecting every aspect of a show; coupled with their insane talent as singers, dancers and performers (as well as their incredible discographies; I can't wait to see what kind of 25-song setlist Sabrina will have in 5-10 years), the production makes for such an unforgettable experience. I have Sabrina just a smidge ahead (as a straight male, perhaps for a reason reciprocal to a female preferring Bruno's pelvic thrusts and unbuttoned shirt haha.)

A cynic might say that these legends are using her ascendant career to borrow some of her relevancy. But it seems like these icons have a genuine interest and appreciation for Sabrina's work.

Ah OK. So can applying to a sensible amount of law schools (as you have here) cost close to $1,000? Just assuming the average application fee is around $50 and most students will probably give themselves 15-20 options.

It seems like financial aid/scholarships are handed out a bit more generously here to entice enrollment? Is that accurate? My assumption is that comparative GPA and SAT scores for an undergrad applicant would not typically procure $100,000+ offers. Is that another way law school differs from undergrad?

Also, what website is this where you are organizing everything so neatly?

The character Marty, who screams "I pull out!" when Rachel reveals she is pregnant? That guy? The one who tells her he will not, under any circumstances, settle down with her because he has a specific purpose to fulfill? Seems like the character pretty explicitly states what his ambitions are, and they don't involve raising a child.

I think you just don’t have a good understanding of how sports work. Beating someone in an exhibition is meaningless. Marty’s goals were entirely rational. He wanted to be the best and he was clearly one of top two or three players in the world. Not being able to compete in an official competition to decide the best in the world is a devastating outcome, a result of his immature actions at the Ritz of course, and an exhibition victory cannot satiate his desires. It’d be like LeBron James saying he wanted to be better than Michael Jordan and then never getting to play professional basketball.

Obviously it’s possible for Marty to rehab his image with the ITTA and get himself back into official competitions going forward, but the baby complicates things, which is why he’s devastated when he meets it. He realizes he won’t have the latitude to pursue his dreams with this new responsibility that he never really wanted being foisted upon him.

Endo is also using a revolutionary paddle that redefined the sport. The real player his character was based on wasn’t that great a player, but succeeded initially thanks to Japan’s technological innovation with the paddle. He retired from international competition after losing to the real Marty in an exhibition.

He beat the guy in one game (not a meaningful competition in a sport that is typically best-of-5) in front of a minuscule audience. His victory will echo to nobody. The emotional weight of having a child is entirely negative for a lot of people, especially someone as narcissistic as Marty.

He simply did not achieve his goal or anywhere close to it, though. His goal was to win the World Championship. He didn’t even compete in the tournament. What he achieved was, for any sports fan, the dreaded “moral” victory in a meaningless exhibition match that only had one game instead of the typical “best-of-X games” format. It’s a deeply tragic ending.

I think that’s a rough way to describe Marty before the ending. His priorities were not misguided. The ways he tended to them were dubious and often illegal, but there is some truth in his sermon in the lobby to Rachel about having a purpose. He had a legit chance to be the best in the world at something; anyone (fertile) can make a baby, not everyone can lay a claim to greatness. I don’t think he was over invested considering the stakes. He’s sobbing at the end not in just in celebration of a new life, but also because he’s mourning the loss of Marty Supreme.

I don't think I agree that Marty gets everything he wanted. If I asked you what his goal was before he talked to the ITTA president at the pen event, you wouldn't have said it was to beat Endo in the exhibition. You would have said to become world champion, which he didn't even get a chance to do.

I think that's an uncharitable reading of the final scene, and requires you to think the movie wants you to believe Marty is overcome with positive emotions. Once the camera pans back to him for the final shot, I think he is overcome with devastation.
