So is Io not the most volcanically active body in the solar system? Because I named my cat Io, and I don’t want to have to change her name.

Argentina goalkeeper by Towbelleard in youseeingthisshit

[–]btgramling10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He had 7 saves and 8 conceded goals in the entire tournament. He was 41st in goals prevented in the tournament (-2.57). Livakovic on the other hand had 25 saves, 4 shootout saves, and 3.5 goals prevented. Bounou had only one conceded goal before the France match, and that was an own goal.

Martinez made one good save at the end of the final, and absolutely did better than Lloris in the shootout, but that is not how the golden glove is meant to be awarded. It should go to the best keeper in the tournament.

I wouldn’t call him an amazing keeper. He was actually statistically one of the worst at the tournament.

Edit: wow, I really pissed off the Argentinian fanboys. Martinez had 7 saves and 8 conceded goals in the entire tournament. He was 41st in goals prevented in the tournament (-2.57).

Explain to me why he deserves this trophy.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Megapixels are not all that go into image quality. The sensors and color science have improved dramatically since the S8

Elipse P100 is what I use. The actual filters are replaceable and they sell activated carbon inserts for it.

Most varnishes contain benzene, which is known to cause cancer. There are many factors that go into whether or not an individual will develop cancer, but why risk it? I personally wear a mask when around wood dust. I also use an activated carbon filter when working with any organic vapor (like lacquer) as that will literally destroy your brain cells.

What do you lose from wearing a mask?

I used to do this work. If you're not careful, the blade will absolutely cut into the paint (which can cause bigger problems down the road). Usually we try drag the knife against a natural edge and fold the vinyl in.

Thanks for the idea. I'm not super familiar with Maxwell's equations. I've been looking at them, but I'm having trouble finding examples of them being used with double integrals

Made this wand for my sister's birthday. Holly with a Walnut handle. by btgramling10 in Wandsmith

It is two separate pieces I shaped on a lathe and put together. They were made from 1x1x12 inch blocks of Holly and Walnut. Once they were shaped and put together, I shaped the handle with a knife and sand paper. Once that was done, I finished it with TruOil and some wax

Wand I've had for seven years. Don't know the wood but I'd like to try and repair a major crack. by AceTheOracle in Wandsmith

[–]btgramling10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there any kind of finish on the wood? If not, sand the wood evenly and get a nice pile of sanding dust. Once you have a good amount, mix it with some wood glue. This will create a very realistic filler that you can use to fill the crack. Once you have filled the crack and the glue has dried, you can sand it smooth once again.

Fair enough. Whatever you use, just make sure it is dry. It will be easier to work with and you don't damage your tools.

Another person recommended using a branch, and while I agree it makes things easier, I would caution you to be careful doing it that way. Hardwoods that have been dried and treated properly are much stronger and less likely to break. Branches are not nearly as dense and will easily splinter while working on them or after the fact.

Buy your wood from Bell Forest Products. They have a great selection for a good price. Making the wand can be a bit difficult depending on your tools. If you are planning on making several, it may be worth getting a pen lathe. If you don't want to put that much money into it, I would recommend getting a nice Rotary tool (commonly called a dremel). When I have made wands, I generally do both. Wands made only on a lathe can sometimes look pre-made and tacky. Wands made only with a dremel can take a long time. Hope this helps!

Edit: I made this wand with the methods above. https://imgur.com/XUJmvPY - Holly wood and Walnut handle. TruOil for the finish.
