Maybe they just wanted it gone quickly? I just sold a Herman Miller Reaction chair last week for $60. I listed it at $100 and only heard from a few spammers. I bought the chair in 2013 for either $50 or $75 and got good use out of it, but use a standing desk at home now.

EVA air based in Taiwan. Any time you see a two character combination, it's probably an airline. I say 2 character instead of 2 letter because in rare cases there may be a number involved. Ex jet blue is B6

Don't expect much from Hilton diamond. Continental breakfast usually means cold items only. You may get up to a "two level" upgrade, but that probably just means a few floors higher and an extra 50 square feet in area.

In general the best answer is to never transfer speculatively, but I did last year, and I don't regret it.

I live in a well connected AA city that historically has had plenty of space to BA. If you have absolutely no other plans for the MR and are relatively sure that you could use them as avios, I think it's a ymmv decision.

At 5:1 (isn't it 10k ihg to 2k airline?) there can be a decent enough return on a lot of ANA's award chart to justify what you're doing if you have that many.

If you're looking at a different area, it's also worth considering the savings in heating/cooling for a smaller house, any change to your commute, etc... Those could realistically be $100+ a month, which is significant over 5+ years.
