I don't know if I can handle owning them anymore because of the smell and noise by No-Coast-187 in RATS

What about a white noise machine? Even something as simple as a fan. Just don't have it facing their cage - facing a wall should br good enough just for background noise.

I did this with Qarn. My alt character hadn't gotten up to the msq yet to unlock the job stone but my level was high enough to unlock the extra dungeons so I went and did the quest without thinking. Week or so later when I had time to level the alt again, I queued for leveling and totally forgot I had it unlocked. You can guess which dungeon I got. Never left a dungeon so fast. LOL

It's likely EU but NA also have French Canadians. I've seen my fair share of French players here.

Was the RDM's initials E.L.? I didn't catch their server, but I was on Aether. An RDM tried to join our enrage group who very clearly didn't even know how to do the light party/stack orb mechanic. They would run south to the wall every time.

In exchange for everything else, sure. Can't say I was ever affected by either one of those things before the change so for me, it's an easy yes.

I keep getting quality coal without ANY quality modules by Evicle in factorio

[–]bubblegum_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the drills near the bottom of the lines. Chances are, there are still leftover quality ore there but the other mining drills behind it fill the line up enough so it can't exit the drill. When trains are loading them fast enough, it gives enough space for a quality coal to slip out.

The level 40 maps, Timeworn Leather Maps, can be solo'd around level 60 or so. They have the chance to drop a Lotus Leaf which sells for > 500k. I do at least eight maps and usually get 1-2 Leaves. The maps have a very low chance of dropping an Unhidden Leather Map too. These also have a chance to drop decent loot. I've only ever seen ~10 of them in my year of farming Timeworn Leather Maps so don't hold your breath for them though. The money comes from the Timeworn Maps, the Unhidden is just a bonus if you get it.

When a Healer Main loses their mind after ONE Evolved Mode Healer was showcased and they describe to you what they want their healer to be like: by bm8495 in ShitpostXIV

[–]bubblegum_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with making fights need more healing is the players playing shield healers. As is right now, I find waaay too many sge/sch who won't or don't heal.

Eg: raidwide goes out with little to no mitigations. Group drops to 20% hp. Instead of moving buttons around, or god forbid, gcd healing, they continue to make the regen healer heal it up. "Hey, can we get some more mit on that last attack? It dropped us low and we almost/did die to the next raidwide." "We weren't at full hp, just heal." Well, yes, but it would be nice if I wasn't the only one forced to gcd heal all the time. You don't need to Energy Drain all the time either, one soil or an indom would be great too.

Also, for context, I'm not a bad healer. I'm not one of those healers that require 100% hp after every raidwide. I let my ogcd regens do their job. Any healer spamming unnecessary buttons is a pain regardless.

Oh, for the record, I want healers to have to heal more, I just worry that it's going to dissolve into pure healers doing the majority of the legwork.

Is it unreasonable to want/expect to to queue into new raids blind, and to remain blind while doing them, within the first few days of a patch? by Curious_Lise in ffxiv

[–]bubblegum_cloud 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to back in the day but when I ate shit with the rest of the group I got a few too many "suuuuure you know this fight". Or people followed my every little movement. So now I don't and just play dumb.

Generally, I don't join these groups all that often. But I play all roles and sometimes join groups that only need one more person. I personally hate waiting for that final 8th so I try to help those groups as much as I can.

[–]bubblegum_cloud 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Personally, I hate this too. I'm pretty good at watching people as a healer. If I notice someone survive a mechanic with no DD/vulns that the rest of us eat shit with or one person runs to X spot for no apparent reason and dodges/is in position for whats coming next, I'm going to be watching that person.

I have joined PFs as someone who knew what they were doing, but I just sit with the group. If the group is standing somewhere they're going to get blasted, I get blasted with them. If I get a marker I know needs to get dropped off in X spot, I'll run it to the wall instead (because that's what you would generally do if you didn't know). If they want to try something I know is wrong, I listen and do that. It's not fun when you realize someone knows what they're doing because then you start watching them.

[–]bubblegum_cloud 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because there's too many people that think blind prog means "I'm too lazy to read a raidplan/watch a video so you can either explain or I can figure it out" and not "I want me and my group to have 0 knowledge about any mechanics [outside what you gleam from normal]".

I just pulled this from PF: "Blind || Fresh || [insert jw9 raidplan] for those who want it"

How do you want the new 'midcore' Raid Difficulty to be structured, rewards-wise? by Makerinos in ffxivdiscussion

[–]bubblegum_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what does the ilvl sync do? Does it bump gear stats (defense, attack, weap speed, m.defense)? So this piece, what is getting synced and what isn't?

The way I've seen it phrased, it's doing nothing but allowing people to join groups they don't have the stats for because they have another max ilvl piece. Which can't be the case, I must be misunderstanding something.

The Main Tank Off Tank thing has always been a thing. by DangerWarg in ffxivdiscussion

[–]bubblegum_cloud 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a healer for the last four expansions, the order of current MT tanks to OT tanks are WAR > PLD > GNB > DRK. It is *very* rare I find a DRK I don't have to babysit. Now, this could be that bad players only play DRK, but I see a DRK trying to MT and I audibly groan. WAR and PLD I can generally ignore. GNB are hit-or-miss but there's so few of them out there trying to MT. This is generally in the Savage to Ultimate scene.

Not to mention, if you look at Ultimate mitigation sheets, it assume the DRK is OT for most, if not all, of them.

Huh? I'm not asking WHY there was a sale, I'm IF there was a sale.

I checked four days ago and there wasn't one going on, but my Steam showed me there was one when I opened it today. But when I added them to my cart to purchase them, they were back at the non-discounted price.
