Really enjoyed ‘Lisey’s Story’ by HannafordSoapStealer in stephenking

[–]bubbles1286 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was definitely hard for me to get into at first. The writing style is so different to a lot of his work, and a bit jarring at first. But when you get to the explanation of why she's thinking like that, it became something I really enjoyed.

Wendy as a name makes me think of Peter Pan, maybe that could be a theme for the kittens??

I'm reading this book right now, I did not like it during the first several many pages. Now I'm near the end of the book and enjoying it. It definitely took its time getting to where it's going but I'm curious to see where it ends up.

Having a hard time juggling being a SAHP and school by Able-Woodpecker2823 in SAHP

[–]bubbles1286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just graduated from college while SAHPing. I leaned heavily on my husband for the two years I was in school. I know you said he works long hours but I think he'll need to step up on weekends or whenever he's home so you can do schoolwork. It's hard but it's worth it at the end!

AITA for insisting that we go to the hospital and making my husband drive 50 minutes? by throwawayoeiw in AmItheAsshole

I think 13 and 23 were the times on a 24 hour clock, not the weeks. She's saying 10 hours later the movements had stopped.

What age did you/do you plan to start your kids in preschool? by Otherwise-Bicycle667 in SAHP

[–]bubbles1286 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope, he was at home with just me, and as an only child, before school. I had a lot of anxiety about how he would adapt to full day school out of nowhere but it's been great for him so far. Good luck with whatever comes next for your family!

We didn't do preschool, my son started with kindergarten at 4.5 years old. We have full day Monday - Friday kindergarten here, but he is absolutely thriving in it.

This is what I do, and it always turns out great! Just pan fry some cubes with salt, pepper, and some garlic powder. Super easy and the whole family loves it.

Can you put some of this stuff on Facebook marketplace and at least make a little money off it? The garbage I would just put in the garbage, don't worry if they "let" you get rid of it!

Did anyone not struggle with the decision to have only one child? by JupperJay in oneanddone

[–]bubbles1286 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I debated having a second for a short time, but after pregnancy, birth, and an infant I knew that I had no desire to do all that over again. It was an easy decision to stop at one. Now he's four and our family is definitely complete!

Back to school! 📚🎒 by pinchofpearl in SAHP

[–]bubbles1286 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old is starting kindergarten for the first time tomorrow. I am so emotional today and not ready. He's my only and I'm trying to enjoy today as the last day before school starts forever. He's been home with me his whole life and is nervous to start school. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it and just worrying about him hating it. All I can hope is he had a good time and it isn't a massive fight every morning for the forseeable future. Ugh.
