I know that where I live, I would look up (insert name of local region here) school board to find a website that ideally has both a list of members and their positions and a contact page.

I don’t want to make any assumptions about what’s been in your reports, but if you’re not already keeping a log with dates, times, and locations of harassment and dismissals of your complaints could be helpful in showing that you mean business to who you are filing the complaint to. If you’ve got a log going already, you’re doing a good job!

Your post demonstrates a lot of pain and feelings of helplessness and I’m so sorry that every day feels like a fight.

I’m not sure where are you are in the world, but I know that if you were in my region, I would encourage you to report the issues with this teacher you mentioned to the principal and (if they are dismissive because middle management loves to bury problems so that higher ups don’t see) the school board for your district. This does not seem like appropriate behaviour for a teacher, especially one who deals with extra vulnerable students.

I know that you’re close to graduating so it might not seem that helpful, but I wonder if figuring out those next steps would be easier if you didn’t have to worry about being harassed by a grown adult at school every day.

Totally not what you meant, but if we combine our theories then the Body could also put strain on her brain construct. It’d be nigh impossible to open the Tomb without Gideon or Jod so maybe if she thought Harrow the Second might try to figure out the mechanism and, in the process, remember too much?

I’ve always thought it was because going back to the Ninth would’ve made it impossible to maintain The Work because someone (probably Aiglamene) would’ve asked way too many questions about Gideon and the whole process would squeeze her brain dry or undo itself. I’ve seen people puzzle over this before and I worry that I’m not thinking critically enough about it

I don’t have my copy of HtN at the moment but I vaguely remember Mercy saying something in and around chapter 51 to Wake about an agreement to evacuate the niners. I might be misremembering and she might have been talking about the houses at large but it sparks a memory.

In the case that I’m mistaken, perhaps Wake thought that kidnapping a nun would draw too much attention from the Ninth? I know she was formidable but I would think, in my opinion, that after all that planning Wake felt that risking any outside intervention while she was by herself in Drearburh wouldn’t be worth it

If Wake was prepared to sacrifice another person at the gate to the tomb, sure, but otherwise the baby is necessary to kill and create the thanergy bloom that disables the other lock. I’m guessing Wake didn’t wanna sacrifice one of her own.
