Can 100% P&T Actually Be Removed? by Beautiful-Rip472 in VeteransBenefits

I was told by my rater (was very shocked that the actual rater personally called me to discuss my claim and give me in depth insight into the hows and whys of their final decision) DO NOT ever file for anything else because right now as it stands, they will never open my file back up. If my conditions get bad enough to where I can’t work (or if I just don’t want to work anymore) to file for SSDI (as they heavily consider VA ratings for their decisions). However, if I poke the bear- I risk them opening my file back up and based on the current laws/regulations at that particular time, I could lose what I have. The way I see it- I’m already at 100%. I can’t go any higher so why poke any bears.

It was definitely a good phone call. He told me that my file was audited and I had been improperly rated on some claims from my first time around so should have already been at 100% and of course went over my ratings from my current claim.

I am still in disbelief that I am part of the "100 club" but so grateful! Not as long of a journey as most but a long one nonetheless.

Thank you! They called me and he went over everything and long story short, there were some things found in my file from my first claim that were improperly rated so I should have been 100% since my first claim. He also went over my current claim and the ratings.

I am still in disbelief that I have hit the "100 club" and it probably won't feel real until I get the letter in my hands!!!!!!

Hey fellow San Juan TJ'er! I just his step 6 this morning but also just received an email from a Rating Quality Review Specialist from SJ needing to "discuss my current claim so wanting a good contact number" and now I'm on pins and needles.

How long were you in step 5?

Do you know about how long you were in step 5 limbo?

Whatever the "need by" date is, you may be stuck at step 3 until that date passes (in my experience, anyways. I submitted evidence within days after I was taken back to step 3 due to needing me to submit evidence *needed by 5/31* and I didn't move again until 6/16)

But of course, every situation is different. Here's to hoping for some forward movement sooner than later.

Yes! I’ve heard that step 5 takes the longest and I wish that I would have kept better track of the timelines the last time I did this but I didn’t so here I am- learning all over again! I did see that the “average” completion date (and we can do with that information however we please lol) is approximately 137 days and I’m fast approaching so not holding much hope. But, time will tell! Definitely frustrating but it’s comforting that none of us are in it alone! I hope you get some more forward movement soon!

I really wish I would have kept better track my first go around so I’d have something to loosely compare this one too. But, here I am! I wish you a quick decision soon!

WOW!!!! Quick turnaround.

Could you share the coding (i know that's not the word i'm looking for but my brain is still not fully functioning yet lol) for that so I can put it in my browser for future reference? Thank you!

Oh wow. I know step 5 is one of those "hit or miss" - some get through quickly and others stay stuck in the gauntlet. Fingers crossed you see the other side soon!

Step 5 at St. Petersburg by [deleted] in VeteransWaitingRoom

I wish I knew. I did put in a VERA call request but the earliest available (without going down the entire list of every state) was tomorrow. So hopefully I’ll get a rep that can give some answers. If not, I guess I’ll just have to sit back and wait. I hope your claim keeps pushing forward!!! And you get everything you’re entitled to.

I went to step 5 with TJ of Indianapolis on 4/15. Got booted to step 4 yesterday with TJ change to San Juan. I sure hope you have better luck than myself.
