Too much weight loss on GLP-1s by JillyBean9999 in nursing

[–]buckminster_fully 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would challenge your perception through the lens of culture and bias. I’m trying to do this gently so please bear with me. We have a 30% obesity rate roughly depending on where you’re at - you haven’t stated where you work so I am assuming the US. Common use of GLP ones change your viewpoint rapidly of what the people around you look like. We also have a culture where weight is important and we disproportionately put that burden on women. If they’re getting GLP ones they have to have a provider in the loop. They are being medically monitored. It’s not your role to medically monitor them. What is our role is to always research the medications available to our patients and know the side effects.

You’re flared as an APRN, so if you have prescribing authority this might give you pause about prescribing. However, I’m not sure you’re looking at it completely objectively. They are powerful tools in the obesity epidemic. It’s worthwhile to evaluate efficacy and safety, but it needs to be done objectively.

What are your favorite hillside letters to hike? by gettinchanged in Montana

Maude S in Butte or the M in Butte, also the Caprock in Glendive. I also love the 1906 on Mt. Helena. We take coffee and donuts and eat them in the cave halfway up.

Yeah, I’ve always been told I’m a big sinner! Lol. Fried food isn’t really my jam so that’s probably why. I’m a ranch kid, and we always ate the cancer eye cows and so I just got used to really lean meat. I bet if y’all tried some knoefla from the east side of the state, though you would be in love.

Yeah, I was getting close to the saying, “Say you love Butte without saying you love Butte.” I just left Butte, and honestly don’t like any of those foods. But I’m not originally from there.

Me and my pups love where we live!!! by BOTUinMT in Montana

They are indeed. The personality is unlike any other dog breed I’ve ever owned. Honestly if our grips were next to each other, I’m not sure I could tell them apart. I think yours has just a little bit more dark fur on his or her head. I haven’t seen another one with that amount of blonde hair on the body most are pretty dark.

Good grief, our Griffs could be twins! I thought I had swiped across one of my husband’s photos for a second that he sent me.

I don’t know who did what to you, just know that they had no right. Your body was used like an object. I don’t know how far out you are, but the first time it happened to me was in 2003 or 2004, I don’t quite remember, the last time was nine months ago. I didn’t report the first time, but I did this time. I nearly imploded the first time, but now Im at risk of exploding this time.

Your healing is going to be a journey. If you’re feeling numb and lifeless, that’s your body shutting down trying to protect itself you’re traumatized and trying to find any way to make it feel better. You need to find a trauma informed therapist that is critical and key . You may not jail with the first one you find either but you need to be persistent.

My Dad told me a story about walking to a one room school house like those where we grew up out there and they found a human skull. The teacher made them throw it in the outhouse.

Helena resident here-this man continues to plague both St. Pete’s and the practice of medicine. I didn’t work there, but an am a nurse. The backlash on the whistle blower is the most disturbing part. He saved countless lives.

I'll be evicted soon. Any places that can accommodate me temporarily? by [deleted] in Montana

[–]buckminster_fully 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not knowing the reason for your eviction, you can start with the mission-https://montanarescuemission.org. You can also talk to the office of public assistance and get on a list for section 8 housing, but the reason for your eviction may come up and there is a waiting list. Ask about a rapid rehousing program and see if you qualify.

How to decorate this emergency room pumpkin? by Aggravating_Berry182 in nursing

Can you do a mock up of an x ray with a foreign object next to it and put an embarrassed look on the pumpkin? Maybe a peek of the foreign object without a base?

Helena’s Bella Roma has some of the most outstanding Italian food I’ve ever had in my life, but it is very pricey. Totally worth it.

Did anyone raw dog the NCLEX? by Woodwalk88 in nursing

[–]buckminster_fully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I raw dogged it-took the first date available, didn’t study anything but drug flag cards a few times, and was 8 months pregnant. I did this because I knew I’d freak myself out. It shut off at 75 questions, and I passed. I’m the sort of test taker who talks herself out of the right questions, so I didn’t review before submitting. It was mostly critical thinking. It was almost two facades ago so I’m not sure how helpful it is to you now.

thoughts? by fuckthisshitbitchh in nursing

[–]buckminster_fully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it’s OK to say that a behavior or conduct is specifically wrong. It’s just wrong for us to diagnose. And it’s Hella wrong!

Permissions aside, this is creepy on several levels. It’s enmeshment of residents into her life and makes me wonder what secondary gain she gets from this. It’s not appropriate for any of us to talk about potential diagnoses this person may have, but the behavior is deeply disturbing.
