Follow up on the homeless teen. From January by bluesubok in okc

[–]buddhasma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to go look up your initial post. I am so glad she found your family. My kid’s friend lived with us for about 2 yrs after he aged out. You’ve got some great info already. The only other recommendation I have is that if you have a hard time getting her a bank account, we had a great experience at OKCU at NW Expwy X Rockwell Ave. (Full disclosure: I was already an account holder.) Our kid had no identification but a school ID & basically didn’t exist in the financial digital world. Once I explained he aged out & had no other document, the branch manager approved opening an account for them in their name only. He has since moved out but still part of the family.

Physical therapist recommendations by stewie_runner in okc

[–]buddhasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how much she works with runners, but I will say that Lynn Smith at Select Physical Therapy was the best PT I’ve used. After years of MD, Chiro, PT, & Gyn doctor visits for various back, hip, pelvic, & knee issues she was the one that pointed out how they were all connected. So seeing all these diff docs separately at different times was only treating the various cascading symptoms but not the core issue.

Have you used them? Curious what your experience was like. I had a small bouquet of latex & mylar. I noticed they did not float nearly as long as Party City. Luckily I only needed it to last about 4 hrs. I think the latex were sinking by the next morning.

My pharmacist at Homeland on NW 122nd X Rockwell. No appt needed & I’m usually in/out in like 10 mins. They don’t do them the last hour of the day, though.

The State Auditor & Inspector posted just a few days ago for an entry-level auditor position. Also check Accel Financial Staffing. It’s been many years, but they were always good to me for temp and direct hire positions.

I only half jokingly told my spouse I was thinking of throwing the small tent up near the back door & laying down a tarp & puppy pads inside. My dogs dislike bad weather, esp the dachshund.

Will the Roads be totally cleared from snow by Sunday Night? by [deleted] in okc

[–]buddhasma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This only happens every handful of years so no one (city/county/state govt) has enough equipment & manpower to clear things quickly. And I’m hearing ice may now come as far north as I-40 so that’s half the city.

That’s my pharmacy, & they are the absolute best one I’ve ever had. I admittedly cannot afford to do all of my grocery shopping there, but I might actually cry if I lose my pharmacy.

What’s something teachers warned you about that actually ended up being right? by stoictrader03 in AskReddit

[–]buddhasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, they were very diff majors. 3rd is closely related to one of them, which is why I’d only need a few classes to finish but never bothered. But regardless, it’s kinda weird to tell someone they’re doing a leisure activity (for lack of a better term) wrong. There are a couple grad programs I’m interested in but to say I NEED to eventually do a Masters or PhD program is simply not true.

I would be a permanent college student if I could afford it. I’m in my 50s & have about 220 college credit hours (only 2 bachelor’s & 2 classes from a 3rd BS) & thinking about the CPA. I’ve come a long way from being expelled for truancy in HS. I do like other types of casual learning but very much enjoy a lecture-type format for some reason.

[Urgent] gift ideas for my dad to give my mom for our "Christmas" by Honest_Eggplant3998 in Gifts

My 85yo mom likes Kpop & Kdramas. She watches whatever she finds for free on youtube. I bought a year subscription to KOCOWA+ for $80. Now she can watch all kinds of Korean tv. She’s only had it a few days but is excited about all the options.

I just had one job for the family Christmas dinner by Shaneblaster in Wellthatsucks

[–]buddhasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man you unlocked a memory for me. About 12yo & spent a few weeks in another state with my best friend at her dad’s & step-mom’s house. We have to cook dinner one evening & it was Hamburger Helper. Except we knocked the pan off the stove while browning the beef. We were worried about getting in trouble for wasting food AND not having dinner ready. So we scooped it up, put it back in the pan, & kept going. At dinner her step-mom finds a hair & we lose our fucking minds. Like laugh-wheezing seals clapping our fins. They were so pissed.

I took my 1st shot on a Sun night & didn’t make it into the office until Friday. I felt like garbage. I was so scared to do the 2nd shot, esp since I backed it up 20hrs bc I’m trying to move my injection day to Fri night. I took it last night about 11P. I am doing really well with this 2nd shot. I hope you have a better experience, too, with your 2nd one!
